Also now when you enter a game the type of game is normally incorrect. I got into a game which said dogfight, but was really a destroy enemy hangars. Next got into a destroy the enemy carrier game which turned out to be a dogfight game.

Lucky for me, my screen froze and booted me from both games.

Zup, is this only happening to me? I really cannot play elite for any length of time without experiencing the screen freeze of death.

elite was unplayable on PC after an upgrade to Win10...

but also wouldn't stream other things very well...

bottom line, had to go to the video card Mfgs site (AMD) and use their utility to get the proper and most recent driver compatible with Win10

all is well now

looking forward to some flying now that i don't have to squint to see on the tab

and hoping for a decent turn rate with the update... testing missions tonite

I will try this. my Netflix streaming sucks as well. Maybe this is the problem.

Did the latest update today...the one where you can get rid of the boxes. Since then, I've lost connection all day today and barely lost connection at all on Saturday. I even updated my display driver...still losing connection.

I shouldn't have to touch anything on a year old laptop to make a game work.

I did the AMD Elite drivers download. The game seemed to run faster and smoother. But after I respawned I lost connectivity.

just played elite im getting freeze frames too i jump in tank see my opponent on foot and bang he shoots me with his tank how come i see him on foot ? lag? i text him after game he says no he was in the tank real odd if u ask me

I found the page for all amd products:

In there there is an automatic detector to check your system and newer drivers. I believe it works for all AMD products.

Another interesting fact about my freezes.. they are way more frequent in the WWI games vs. the WWII games. If I select WWII aircraft I can fly much longer without a freeze and boot.

It might not be all that helpful.

What make is your computer Comet? I've got an older HP Pavilion P7 with an AMD A6-3620 Quad-Core CPU with Radeon HD 6530D integrated graphics . . . the AMD support page just tells me that I have to get my driver updates through HP.

Fortunately, I've been lucky on this round of updates . . . it seems to agree with the my AMD dinosaur.

I tried a couple flights this evening without a connection loss Zup Hopefully the problem is behind us now. Thank you

if you can, please update to 1.0.19 on windows, i think i managed to fix most of the freezes/connection losts

Now the app wont open. It does the initial blue screen, then instantly minimizes. Rebooted and had the same results X5.

I guess I'll just stay in df1 for longer.

It's not just you Uncertainty. I'm on Windows 10 and just had the same thing happen; the screen froze (no connection lost warning) and the app crashed.

I was also able to get back into the same game (but on other side), and after a few minutes, I had the same screen freeze/game crash again.

I've played four games since I posted this, and am going 50/50... that is, in two of the games, I played through to the end no problem (though others were losing connections). In the other two games, the screen froze, and then the app 'crashed', i.e., closed itself. This is something that happened once in a while on df1, but is not a problem I've encountered in elite; until now.

To be clear... it's not the end of the world, and I do not mean any of what I've just said to be critical; just thought you'd like to know (maybe I should've selected a different topic, since the 1.0.19 update seems to have only rendered elite 'partially' or 'intermittently' unplayable for me/possibly all of windows 10).

Update...

The game runs on my Win10 tab but not on the Win10 desktop...

so weird... it looks like a Unity bug because those are new and I didn't change anything so big as to begin random crashes like that.

So...

I'm rolling back to the previous version of Unity I used for the previous windows build. Hopefully things will get back to normal. An update should be out in a few hours.

I had a fairly long game and froze up for a couple seconds. But was able to resume play. It happened while parachuting. About 15 minutes later I froze up and the game crashed. It also happened while parachuting...a plane crashed into me while i was coming down and the retry button was showing. I decided to wait til I landed before pushing it just to see if I got points...and then I froze up and the game crashed.

So it only gave me grief when I was parachuting...and only twice out of quite a few times.

Oh by the way, I tried subscribing and nothing would happen...so I waited the 7 minutes to play. Anyone else unable to subscribe?
