I will have to release Dogfight Elite first for VR. I just wonder if anyone got one of those VR glasses: The Samsung Gear VR for galaxy note 4, note 5, s5, s6 phones.

So we can give it a spin.

I can order a headset on amazon and have it in a couple days zup

how much they cost there? I think they are $99 on Samsung website. The problem is that you need the specific VR for your specific phone

I have a windows 8.1 tablet and the ones on amazon are 40.00. They are bluetooth

Do VR goggles go together with reading glasses?

Will DF Elite be available without VR?

If so, will VR goggling gogglers have an advantage over 2D 3D flight simulator players?

Shall I ask a question about availability for Apple devices?

I guess, before hand, that my intention to buy the new iPad Pro, available this month, to have a bigger screen to play Dogfight will be a bad investment.

....and finally: Will thís work?

cancel that order. That's not the glasses I'm talking about. The Gear VR for Samsung works ONLY on note 4, note 5, Samsung s5 and s6. None of those phones run Windows 8.1 so I don't know what you ordered but clearly it won't work.

I'm releasing first for VR, for a very specific device for testing. The version for all other devices won't be out until probably January since I need to test and release for one type of device at a time.

How would you use controls with the phone clipped into the glases ? Im guessing youd need a joypad of some sort and as for tilt players theyd end up spending a fortune on visits to chiropractor !! Does look cool though

What about simulator sickness? Do you also need the separate controller?
We aren't all good using X-Box type controllers.
The glasses are a 100 dollars on sale. Example would also be 2 to 4 weeks for me to get one.
Need Elite to support all makes and models of Flight Joysticks.
It needs to operate on all devices just as the original version, as not many will pay 100 dollars for an Oculus device.

Hm i think some of you are misunderstanding. I never said that Dogfight Elite will only work with 3d glasses. I'm saying that I'm testing with the 3d glasses soon, so if someone has one, they could jump into testing it.

BUT

Dogfight Elite will run on pc, mac, xbox one, probably ps4 and obviously on higher end mobile devices. Per Apple requirements it will need ios 8.0 minimum to run (so anything ipad/iPhone that doesn't support that, it won't run it). And per Android requirements it will probably require Android 5.0 minimum (I'm trying my best to make it run on Android 4.4 but I can't promise). It will also run on Apple TV and Android TVs.

I hope that clarifies things: wanna test it soon? If you have the Samsung Gear VR you will be able to do it soon since it's the version I'm releasing first. The other platforms will have to wait a few more months. Also warning: the version released to Gear VR won't be complete, so don't panic if you see not many changes at the beginning.

As for controls:
The whole game has been upgraded, that means that on pc it should work with practically every joystick/controller. If you play using 3d glasses, you need a gamepad because that's the only way to handle it.

Don't take anything I write as carved in stone. I'm testing the game. Things may change and obviously the reason for testing is to get feedback so I can adjust the game to what most people would prefer to see.

Hi, does it have to be the oculus brand? Or will any work as long as it's compatible with ur device? If that's the case then amazon 9ffers some for as cheap 35 bucks.

I hope that Dodfight Elite has its on forum server so when the crying and complaining begins and all the useless threads are created. It want take up the extra space and slow down the game. Like now causing lag.

I bought a nimbus wireless game controller for iOS 9. It is great with Zombie e gunship a very old game that added support with iOS 9. I am wondering if you will add game controller support for the new Apple TV and the iPad / phone in the coming months? Great game Zup I think many would like it as well. Although it may sound like a joke, I believe that Google Cardboard (google it) may be a cheap, but fun to build and a viable alternative to Samsung's device.
The main issue is that, on the Google Cardboard's option, the game would need to rely on the phone's accelerometer instead of the VR's accelerometer (of course, the google cardboard VR thing has no accelerometer, it's all about cardboard and two lenses). And, based on some "experts"' reviews, the phone's accelerometer is "slower" (less responsive and less "fine-tunable" than the Samsung Gear's accelerometer.
So, your question is good, Rudolf, and I will rewrite it a bit:
Will users be able to play using Google Cardboard and/or other similar cheap devices wich have no controlers and no accelerometer?
