Well, I've just read this discusion all the way trough to the end. Pluribus is -as many say- a point harvester, completely true. I would rather have a teamkilling aspirant join my team than pluribus. Why? The aspirant at least tries and is of some value to the blue effort (if not for the team killing, which if done relentlessly, will result in another open slot for a better (willing) player). I'm not a fan of ganging up on people, but by playing like this pluribus has just deserved this thread. He has been playing for about 3 years so he told, and for as far as I've seen (in older forum posts) has played like this his whole "career". Reaching the top 50 should only be reserved for the best of the best of Dogfight, in my opinion. Pluribus is clearly not the best of the best, as he's easier to shoot than an aspirant, and has less takeoffs.

On the "a pilot only has one live" matter, that I've heard pluribus uses, I agree. However, in all respect, this is a (simulation) GAME, not a real war. If you would only have one life in a war game there wouldn't be such popularity for games like "Call of Duty". I just like to think I (and every other Dogfight pilot) is terribly lucky to survive EVERY crash they have to suffer trough, and are able to fight on and prolong the "war". If you fly with that tought, you are able to respawn every time!

On the Paul Mantz matter. It's pathetic you are using charity work for your own reputational gain, and use disabled people to win an argument. It's even worse that you actually lie about donating money to a charity organisation, again for reputational gain. To those people I just wish all the worst.

And I know I'm definately NOT a saint, and I probably never will be, but at least I admit it. And I don't hide behind fake promises and fake deeds.

Well that was my say about it, I hope I didn't forget nor exclude anything or anyone!

See you in the sky! :)

If anyone thinks sitting in a game, not helping their team, carrying on a bunch of "woe is me" jibber jabber is "okay" because of a "possible" mental/physical disability, is acceptable. All i have to say is "remember Duckwing"! Thanks, that is all.

Hey Jacob,

I hear what you're saying and completely agree. My point on Plur is: what can you do about him? Many players like (or claim to like) the challenge of being outnumbered. A blue plur is definitely a handicap. A red plur is a distraction and an exercise in paying attention and watching for the sneak. Just take him as he is and don't stress on it.

His "Tokyo Rose" schtick is a pain in the ass but unless Zup mutes or bans him... :S

This thread has gone so off course maybe I will add to it. Read a few posts back about Duck Wing.
What is the story behind Duck Wing Mountain. Maybe the old timers can tell us the story.
Have not found anything about Him, Her or It.

Well there are folks here who could tell you more about Duckwing then I, I only new him a little, flew with him a little did a little chatting wc with Duckwing. This is what I know and my apologies if it is incorrect at all.

Duckwing was an older gentleman with membership to MOM. Up till just before his passing I wasn't aware of his disability (Btw he was one that I had mentioned, a not named that Paul knew). I was surprised to know that he had only one arm and hand. This part I'm not sure of so if it's wrong again I apologize. I was told he had lost his other arm in battle. He was really very good and for me at that time in the game he was higher ranking and a better shooter. I was impressed to know this and had liked Duckwing before I found out about his disability, he certainly he earned my respect and admiration. Nice guy fun to be in game with very honorable player. I was saddened to hear he had passed and I admit that after Zup and his bunch put the monument up on the hill I flew up there landed and was impressed how the hallow hill seemed to feel the loss. I didn't know him well, just enough to miss him.

He was a fighter and you would never know he had a disability if you hadn't been told. And even if you knew you would at times question it.

I knew DUCK well.

He was a sniper on a mission when his spotter stepped on a landmine and died.
DUCK was severely injured. Much more than mentioned above. His pain while here was intense.

He came home and his sweetheart married him just before he died.

We talked for many hours. He was humble and had class. His widow is a dream lady that continues to be strong and special to me.

He was my friend....a true, strong hero to me.
