I flew alongside these guys from the decks of USS RANGER during DESERT STORM. I was an A-6E Intruder guy, so naturally we had a friendly rivalry, bombers vs fighter pukes.

VF-1 Squadron History

Thanks for sharing that Barf. I was in HS-17 which disestablished in 1991, as did many squadrons during that time period. Our carrier, the USS Coral Sea, was decommissioned in December 1989 after returning early from a Med cruise. The squadron hung around and took the USS Lincoln around the horn during Desert Storm. I went from there to HS-9 Sea Griffins, which also decommissioned in April 1993. Felt like the kiss of death for squadrons there for awhile.

I think I mentioned I got to cruise with the last A-6 squadron, the "Sunday Punchers" of VA-75 in 1996. Dang I miss those days.... Don't know about you Barf but I will always be a United States sailor.

On a random search, I accidentally ran across some beer labels. Ironically enough, they were all WOLF Beer products. I know I know...I have too much time on my hands,lol. Oh and by the way...Dire Wolf and Black Wolf have their own brands, and so does the Wolf Pack. Anyone up for a Beer tasting? Here are roughly 30 brands from around the world.
Uberculture will appreciate this, since I believe most of them to be Micros. He's a Home brewer don't ya know.
Who knew we were such worldly creatures.
I'll make a banner out of anything.lol. THWolfpack has me on a super special project right now.I hope to unveil it soon.

Hey BlkWolf! Don't know if you know the name Jon Lord. He's of Deep Purple fame, and in 1969 he wrote a little thing that was performed at Royal Albert Hall, in England. This is what turned me on to Deep Purple. John Lord was a musical genius. I know you've been looking for War music. Give a listen here, and tell me if this would fit the bill for a soundtrack, lol.Especially after the 40:00 minute mark It's epic, IMHO.

I love that concert. My original copy was on a set of 8-tracks. Some of our younger cubs won't know what those were. Way back, my grandmother used to take me to operas at the Met in New York. I got my appreciation for Orchestra Music then. So when I was in my long hair phase in the 80's, this was already 20 years old, but I thought it was the best of both worlds, and i could finally justify my love for a concert orchestra with my head banging friends, lol.
Gosh, we would listen to it over and over for days on end. Go figure. I love it today as much as i did then, if not more, now that I have a music background as well.

I had never heard that before today, and it is a very nice piece of music indeed. I have always been a Moody Blues fan, and have seen them several times. They use the local orchestra for backing and the concerts have all been a sensory delight. That could be why I enjoyed this link so much. The link is a bit rough from a sound quality standpoint but that was some brilliant musicianship for sure. Thanks for sharing!
