I have to say that I got some new insight last night. I played just a little on my wives iPad. Boy oh boy... It would have been interesting to see what my plane looked like from another viewpoint. I could not fly straight to save my life. But, that is because I "learned" to fly using my fingers, not my arms.
Reminds me of the time I put down a high tech compound bow I was shooting and decided to shoot an "old fashioned" re-curve. I got good with it, for a while, and then when I decided to pick up the compound again I could not shoot it worth a darn. I had adapted to the other.
Was the outcome the same for both bows? Yep, the arrow would hit the target. Just a different way of getting there. Each one has its strengths and weaknesses, most of the time being the exact opposite of the other.
Thats the way I view this game...
except when you throw in the ability to use cheat things. While it intrigues me, I am not going to look into it much because I don't want to be tempted. I like the competition, and while it is frustrating, it adds to the game. Would'nt most of you agree that at one point or another when you would play a game where the "computer" was the opponent you would always wonder to yourself...
is the computer cheating somehow?
Did it stop you from playing? Sometimes it did me, but I would just try harder. Never made me want to not play ever again.
So I recognize now what your talking about wig, and can see where others are coming from now. But I want to state plainly that I have no cheat things going on and never will. If I am found to be a liar, then ban me. The issue with the laggin, well, lets just say that it happens I am sure, but it happens on both sides. I have played many a game where I would be the one shot down with no plane in sight or completely emptying my gun on a plane only to have him shoot me down like no ones business.
Do the servers recognize between the two platforms? One thought that comes to mind is that while its not ideal for the two to be playing against each other, it is nice to have one on your side if they have one on their side. So maybe, in the future, the servers could assign an equal amount to each side (when possible).
Sorry for the long post...
