Looks like Windows 8 is still on the old release. In the meantime, this thread should be reserved for the advantage takers who relish in the ghost kill and gloat about it. No one can avoid ghosting by upgrading, at least for now.

I'll re-edit this post when 4.4.37 is available on Windows8.

This thread is for reporting Windows 8 players who are taking advantage of the ghosting situation. When you see a ghosting player, ask them if they are Windows 8, and if they are, tell them to UPDATE (to 4.4.37). If they say "No", or "I like easy kills", or ignore you (but clearly are chatting otherwise), then IMO it is safe to say that they are taking advantage. This is a stop-gap measure until Zup is able to make the update mandatory. Until then, WATCH OUT for these players.

[Disclaimer: This thread is a warning for you to WATCH OUT. I will WATCH OUT for anyone you list. In fact, I will WATCH OUT repeatedly, especially if they are red. If they are blue, I may switch sides so I can WATCH OUT some more!]

This player was reported on the blacklist thread for ghost killing, being told about it and the update, and followed with lol's, why should I it's fun to ghost kill, etc. Screenshots of OD2 are all over the blacklist.

I was just in a DF game with Ankit3410. He was ghostkilling rampantly, said "bro I was behind u", was told that WE often can't see him but he can see us, and was told to update. He said yup, and stayed in the game. I found him in another game and again asked him to update. No response all game. Found him in yet another game, repeatedly asked him to update, no response. Clearly he doesn't want to. After all, he's ranking up quickly on his ghost kills:

OD2!!! Me, TR, and BlueDane have seen him ghosting and saying he wont update cause its fun being a ghost. Ill keep my eyes out for more when i get ungrounded.

I have, 3 times today.
Lost my rag, told him what I thought of him, his stats and his rank and asked how many more games he was going to intentionally ruin.

He then blamed me for being a ghost. Guy is a tool.

Am now awaiting my punishment.

If they are listed here and ghosting in my game as red, I fully intent to WATCH OUT. Over and over. I have no intention of getting blasted out of thin air by a ghost. WATCHING OUT to smithereens, that's what I intend to do. You do what you feel you need to.

I think I will be on the look out helping you guys watching out for the ghosts.

Ran into g36 yesterday. No response but a lot of ghost kills. I put the mission aside (ctc) and concentrated on watching out until he left. Unfortunately probably due to language difficulties Suxor also left the game. For that I am very sorry.

XIAOYU ghost killed me at least four times last game...
He knows. We all told him. I dont like people getting kicked out of a game but otherwise is unfair for everyones stats.
Greetings to all fellow pilots.

Keep an eye out for "porkfinger" Windows 8 guy. I told him he needed the latest Windows 8, dogfight update so he wouldn't be a ghost. He left soon after. Hopefully to get the update. If he is still ghosting, he knows it.

Edit: He told me he already had the last update. They may not have it yet. Windows may hold on to them like apple. I think Zup has mentioned this. Something about forcing it after it is available. There are still a few Im going to kill, without mercy. Before and after the update. I want those kills back.

Can someone ask one of them WHICH release number they have? If 4.4.37 isn't available yet, then the few Win8 folks who say they "have the update" don't know what they're talking about. And it truly isn't their fault yet, except for a few who relish in the ghosting and kill indiscriminately.

And so few are on the forum. Can someone tell us for certain whether 4.4.37 has shown up in the Windows app store?

I am truly sorry for leaving, but how do you defend against that? I didn't know what else to do. Sorry to all involved in that game( except Bob).

That would be a no... Been looking for it everyday since knowing about the new update. Still no joy.

BTW, this phantom business ain't a one street. I've been burned more times than I can count by people I never seen on radar, in the sky. And I don't hear their shots, or see bullets. Just the way it is, until it's fixed lads.

True enough. But some are using their cloaking to rank up at warp speed (points for kills, no deductions for deaths) and ruining games. These guys brag about their invisibility, and when the Win8 bug works against them, they move on to another game.

Gee wiz not to change the subject, but back when i started flying the only Ghost killing was by me. now cause of the updates i cant do that any more!

But since windows 8 came out about 3% of the pilot out there have a windows device, and they definitely use it to there advantage.

I reckon its a wash for me. Like, I get shot down by ghosts, about the same amount (or more) than I am one. I can't be sure though. I can tell, everytime it happens to me, but I don't always know if I'm invisible or not; unless some one complains. When they complain, I will start asking that person if they can see me, cause if they can't see me, then I ain't fighting like a man.

Its going to be strange when it all gets sorted. It will be like learning all over again, but it will be soooooo much better.

As if it is not bad enough to have a Win8 player in a game, I had 2. Enoxx and Mellim. Blah

U know what i cant. Stand. When a guyenters a game. Gets shot down once, leaves comes back a few sec later only to be a phantom and starts phantoming everyone. Now that ticks me off. All they say is "lol" im like loose the phantom lag and let me show u lol.
