Jdewey, please share. This isn't just a salt water thread. Don't care if its a ocean, lake or duck pond. Post it. Your welcome.
Danny,
About your comment in-game about the blue. That one was only 5-7lbs. At the right time of year, you can hit him 15-20lbs in Hatteras. That size don't often make it my way. Where I usually fish, they're only a pound or 2 at most, but that one was in Morehead City, near an ocean inlet. The mates were cutting bait before our 18hour trip and throwing scraps over the side. It was a feeding frenzy. One of the mates threw chunk of bait on a treble and tossed it over. He handed the rod to my boy (only about 9-10 at the time). He had the butt of the rod under his arm and when it hit the rod slammed the rail and through the lever action, lifted his little arse right off the deck! Thought he was going in! He fought it on his own though, for about 5 minutes. He had jelly arms when he was done and was shaking all over. It was the biggest fish he had ever caught. That was one of my favorite moments as a Dad. I knew right then this was going to be an annual trip.
Noushy, the spot's still open and you have dibs, but if any one else is interested and Noush wusses out on me, I have an open spot for a relatively cheap adventure (YEMX?). The trip is an overnighter June 22/23. Shoot me a PM.
Danny, here another pic of a nice one...
