And to quote myself from 5 months and 3 weeks ago . . .

. . .If Donald Sutherland or Clint Eastwood (think "Kelley's Heroes") were in MOM, would they mentor? No! They'd cut a deal with the panzer tank driver and everyone would walk away with the gold, amirite? That's what we should strive for. (Wait how do we do that?)

Prometheus was a HUGE disappointment, and I LOVE me some Idris and Charlize!

oedius wrote: I ordered The Tuskegee Airmen the other day off of Amazon and should be receiving it any day now. I considered also Redtails but, majority of reviewers seem to favor Tuskegee Airmen which was originally an HBO miniseries.

My fantasy as a kid was that I'd grow up to be this great actor/director in Hollywood, and star in a movie that I'd also direct based on the Tuskeegee Airmen. Having read much about them, and meeting many in person and getting a chance to talk to them and listen to their stories, I have to say that both these movies don't do justice to the real thing. Very rarely does Hollywood get racial tension right anymore in movies, and when you also have to throw in the gravity of what was at stake during WWII, it may be too much to try to do even in a three hour epic.

Save your money on purchasing them. I can recommend several books that treat the matter better if you'd like.

My favorite movies of all time are:

Sci Fi: Star Wars narrowly beats Aliens 2
Drama: tie - The Godfather and A Few Good Men
Comedy: The Full Monty barely beats the first Austin Powers
Sports: Victory
Classic: Casablanca
War: Glory

Not sure how to classify Forrest Gump, The American President, or Pulp Fiction.

I agree Tex. Prometheus was a huge let down. So was The Amazing Spiderman. It should have been called "Somewhat Amazing Spiderman". Now, the Dark Knight Rises was mantastic! Love me some Ann Hathaway!!

This is why I'm NOT a MORAF!!
