Ah, yeah. I loved V for Vendetta so much I went out and bought these from Etsy:

However, there's no need to break the glass. There's actually a door, hahahah.

Fight Club is great. It really makes you change the way you see the world. Plus I relate in a lot of ways to both Tyler Durden and the Narrator.

No Country for Old Men is a masterpiece. It's surprisingly not too "Action-y". The villain of the movie is insane. He uses one of those bolt guns that they use in slaughter houses to kill people. It's completely silent. Great movie, would watch again. :)

Ok, Slenderman. I will give those other movies a try. Wow, I like that momento from V. It is a classic.
Oh, and I can't emphasize enough how much a surround home theater system makes! Whether 5.1 or 7.1. Just go as big & powerful as you can afford. Plus, it works equally well for music. If you, like me when I was just getting started, need tutoring in everything home theater, go to "AV science forum"

Ah yeah, I've thought of investing in a decent home theater system -- but the truth is, I hardly have time to watch movies anymore. Once I settle down, I probably will though. :P

I ordered The Tuskegee Airmen the other day off of Amazon and should be receiving it any day now. I considered also Redtails but, majority of reviewers seem to favor Tuskegee Airmen which was originally an HBO miniseries.

The original Flight Of The Phoenix was far better than the remake. I will have to watch again so I can pay closer attention to the flying. So sorry about accident with your father, Paul.

The "Transformer" movies are particularly enjoyable on a home theater system with good subwoofers due to these movies being so heavy in LFE. This can be problematic however if you happen to live in apartment or other close proximity situation with neighbors. I live in rural area so I can crank it up to where the walls & floors literally shake during explosions & gunfire. :silly:

lol, I think you would be hooked once you could hear (and feel!) the difference it makes. More & more blurays are being encoded with true 7.1 surround. They are already done in lossless DTS audio. With my eyes, I still have a hard time seeing enough difference in video quality between bluray & DVD so I still enjoy both equally well.

Break out the Dr. Pepper & popcorn! Even some pizza!

I watched Battle Of Britain the other night and I caught myself wanting to duck as the Spitfires came zooming over from back to front through the speakers! Wow!

I saw "Battleship" last weekend and I thought it was very good. It will be added to my bluray collection.

Also, FINALLY just now saw preview for "The Expendables 2". Can't wait to see it! I have the 1st one and I think it is pretty good.

While I am at it, "Rambo" (the last one) is also an excellent movie. It is a wonderful thing to witness what a 50 cal machinegun can do to enemy "combatants".

Of all the actors, I think Tom Hanks always finds a way to make me emotional. The Green Mile, Forrest Gump, and even Saving Private Ryan -- all of them made me cry. :P So, those are in my "list", so to speak.

I have a TON of other good movies that I can pick. I enjoy psychological/mysteries as well, so Shutter Island and Inception are some more modern movies I can pick. I like Leonardo DiCaprio, too. Go figure.

Oh, and our TV? 65" HDTV with 3D Technology & Boise Speakers surround sound. Add that, with the Blu-Ray capabilities of our PS3, and you get an awesome theatre experience. :P

My dad loved last year's Christmas present.
