I seem to remember talking to another player from Coventry , wouldn't be you would it , my memory ain't what it used to be. Lol
My Uncle traded two old Ford Tractors a few years ago, he got a running Ferguson out of the deal.
After he died, my Aunt asked to figure out the value for her. Traced the serial number and discovered it was a TE-20 built in 1948 in Coventry, England. Was actually worth a little bit. But the best part was learning the history behind it.
How Ferguson had designed the 3 point hitch and he had a "handshake" agreement with Henry Ford to use it on his tractors.
Henry Junior came along and kicked Ferguson in the teeth, lawsuits were filed, etc. Ferguson won. Ford stopped making the Tractors. And the Ferguson Tractor was born.
Looked very similar to the Ford Model. TE meant " Tractor England" and the later "TO" models built in Chicago stood for "Tractor Overseas"
Sorry to ramble, but I love that story. And my Uncle's Fergie, we sold it for $2500. ⚡️
