I saw the "Walleye" last night also. I only had time for one quick game. The Wallster pulled a nice one on those pesky reds and dropped a bomb from over 2000 feet, meters, yards, bushels, Heck whatever they are. Well done SkyBomber...

Those 3 German plane's whipped our butts like we where their red-headed step-child it was ulgy and we had 5 Allied plane's we didn't stand a chance.

We need to get back to some basics to help with motivation. Like, if you are able to work and don't, you don't eat. That might recalibrate their priorities.

It's actually even more impressive than that. Before it became known as the F-86, pilot George Welch broke the sound barrier while the XP-86 was still in testing. It is possible that he did it before Yeager, but since the jet was not equipped with the proper instrumentation at the time, It couldn't be proven. He did it with no afterburner too, only later models of the F-86 were equipped with an afterburner.

Vintage dirt bikes rock! I have had the pleasure of riding a few, they are much more fun that the newer models. One that comes to mind was the Hodaka Thunderdog, similar to this one.

Yes Fallen the Metisse bikes were Mqueens favourite. Utilising the Triumph engine with the hand built frame they were the leaders in desert racing at that time . His favourite bike was his desert scrambler . I owned several Triumphs myself during my early years , my last was a 79 T140 E 750 . Had that bike for 14 years and rode it daily . They were renowned for leaking oil from new which was due to the demand was so high for the bikes that they never let the alloy castings cure right before they used them for assembly . My childhood friend Mick Skeer who has raced Nortons showed me how to glass face the primary casings and use correct thickness gaskets and hey presto no more oil Leaks . By the time I sold this bike the engine was very modified and went like a scorched cat . Should never have sold it but my passion for Harley Davidsons took over . Frank Macnamara was a huge mentor also to me with the British bikes and he had one of the biggest collections of Manx nortons in the world . I used to sit in his workshop at Beachport where I grew up and watch him lathe up his own camshafts and engine components for his bikes . Those men like Burt Monroe are a dying breed that we may never have the privilege of meeting again . Respect those who earn it , never give it for free , was one of the greatest things that they taught me . Thanks for jogging those memories Fallen .
