Looking at the Ascend FS128T or something comparable. Some reviews indicate that the hull material may not be durable enough.
I've heard good things about the sit on top model much better than the sit under models. 
I like the one that stays on the roof of my neighbor's Volvo. I have seen that thing take the heat as the sun beats down on it. I have seen it with a foot of snow on it. It handles rain and hail like a trooper.
No idea how it is in the water but it has made that Volvo look good for the last 3 years. If he ever flips his car near a river, he should be ok I think.
