Interesting. A really minimal conversion - looks as though it used the standard DIII upper and lower wings, and simply raised the upper with longer struts and added a narrow chord mid wing. I can't imagine it told them a great deal. The advantage of a triplane is partly to be found in the shorter span and narrower chord of each individual wing. I can see that it might have improved rate of climb over the standard aircraft, but It would likely have been slower. Rate of turn might have been improved, but probably not roll. All in all a bit of a half-hearted job in my opinion. I wonder what performance was like?
