If I start game from desktop icon, it says new version needed etc...
Download from store takes no time, then "play" button in store gives game load, but desktop icon still says  "new version needed ......"
Do I need to delete the old version of the PC?

Yeah, I had both versions installed, and the desktop link lead to the obsolete one.
Cleaned up now.
I thought usually updates automatically delete the old version ???????

Yeah, after a month fighting with Microsoft the guys for some reason cannot change the app themselves. The issue is that Echoboom as a company does not exist already for a few years and the game it's under my name. In every store all i had to do was notify the change and they did it. On Microsoft, they can't. Also, you cannot remove or delete apps from their store. As insane as it sounds... you can hide them, but if you bought it already, it will always be displayed.

In short, I had to create a new account under my name, duplicate the app and rename the old one in the old account to "obsolete". It just because they can't change existing apps on their end, something every other store can do easily.
