Turn throttle down all the way. Glide in very slowly. Make sure propeller isn't spinning.

Also, when In doubt whether you'll land ok and not crash, circle around.

And let your plane come to a complete, near complete stop, or below 20 speed before putting on the brakes.

If you're coming to a stop on a carrier at an angle, but you're afraid you'll fall off the carrier before you can safely brake, throttle up and take off, better to have to circle around again than crash.

playing in full plane view when landing also helps as you can monitor how low your wheels are so you don't come in too low and clip the carrier deck and crash. Use the no throttle rule as a weapon to get a few shots in on any enemies trying to capture the carrier as you come in to land, hopefully taking them down (in this case, be careful of parachuters) or scaring them off, effectively stealing it out from under them.

But landing inside the carrier, i'm still learning myself, but I can tell you this: don't touch down ( first hit the runway) too hard or fast as you'll be sent upwards and crash. This is the troubling part for me.
Good luck and once you're in the carrier, it's hard to get out again, making you an easy target for bombs. :)

I push the camera button, it gives me more of a perspective of where everything is around the plane from behind the plane. Try it and see if you like it..

Why not call it the view or point of view button?

Go into third person, cut throttle to 60 mph until you're almost at the runway, then all the way down, and pull up as you land. once you're stopped, put on your brakes. :)
See you in the skies!

Yes, what Calvin said about pulling up at just the right time. It will help you not to bounce so high or not at all. I can remember not very long ago going through exactly what you are now. I guess most of us do at beginning. It was constant frustration! :S
