The highest your plane can go in game is 36'000 feet with a bomb it 30,000 feet that with littal hand on 3 and the big one on the 6 or 0 once you go a bit past 36,000 you stall and fall.

Sky above 10,000 you need oxygen. WW I planes don't fly that high. I think  your saying 3,600 ft. Shortt hand on the 3 and long on 6?

When I look it up it says most WWI warplanes had "service ceilings" of about 20000 ft i.e. 6000 m.

I have yet to crash with the sky. So the limit is at about 3600ft? It must take some time to get that high! It's much easier to crash with the edges. ;:-)

The limit of the radar/map is 1400ft. If the difference in altitude between another plane and you is more than that, he doesn't show up on your map.

Yep the sopwith camel had a service ceiling of 12,000 feet also in ww1 they had basic oxygen tanks and mask.

If the gauge is meters, which makes sense when I think about it 3600 meters is just under 12,000 ft. Which matches sopwith service ceiling. 1400 meters is 9 tenths of a mile for radar or sight distance. Haven't matched my 4,080 yet 3,950 on last attempt. As long as I can't shoot anyone this has been a good diversion. Been messing with tanks too but everyone is pretty diligent about blowing them up lol.
I'm on Appel maybe with updates droids are higher?

I bumped against the ceiling at between 3900 and 4000 ft. I just reached 4000 at one time.

Down below there was a "bomb the carrier" game, and at about 3000 ft I dropped the bomb a full three shiplengths in front of the carrier, after having tried to judge the direction it was taking by looking at the map.

I believe the bomb took 3 full minutes to fall all the way down, - much longer than it would have taken me to fly down. Needless to say I missed.

It might just be meters. It does sound logical the way you put it, and Joaquin is European. Still, in the aviation world I thought everything had always been measured in feet? And the airspeed is obviously given in fps.

No, sorry to admit it, but I can't climb higher than you on my android. :-(

I enclose a picture from up high, with the bomb falling much, much slower than what I did when I pointed the nose of the plane downwards. I dropped at a speed that I have never seen before. When dive bombing, even from 1000ft or more, I have seldom been much over 180fps.

True, people suffer from hypoxia at about that height. Pro pilots normally dont go above 8k in an unpressurized aircraft

That's crazy you guys can get up past 4000 meters becuse every plane iv tried in once the get to 3600 meters they just fall straght to 100 meeters befor you can control them again plane just falls at 80 fps uncontrolbly down to that 100 meters then I get control and that's with every plane iv flown and with engender on full power. I also tried killing engen then turning it back on to gain control but I can't it just goes and falls straght down while level.

To everyone saying "There'd be a lack of oxygen that high".

That's true. But there isn't even a pilot IN the plane. ;)

2000m seems pretty safe that in most games people wont see you. I often do a few high runs to see if an opposing pilot is taking that route. with some defenders you can sneak by multiple times. i've been using the bomb in the carrier capture game to practice high altitude bombing - has worked once or twice in the carrier bombing game if you aim at the far end of the carrier in a dive lined up with the deck... the long high flight is awfully boring, especially when you get nailed in the dive at the end. I hate when I'm clear to bomb, then someone destroys a tank that was no threat yet and sends an ace back to base who gets me.. A secure team communication channel would make a big difference on those tactics.

in game there is no pilot in the plane plus flying at 12000 feet there is less oxygen but not enuth to really kill you but you will feel like your running a marathon.

Now here's why you all are right about how high the planes can go! :-)

The altimeter doesn't give the altitude above sea level, but above the ground. Joaquin must have made it that way to save us from too many crashes. :-)

Since the top ceiling is flat,it is farther from the ground above the lakes than it is over hills and mountains.

So when I tried again today, the altimeter wouldn't rise to more than 3600 over the hills, but when I tried again over the largest lake, it rose to 4030.

And when I reached the ceiling I just stalled ever so gently and lost some hundred metres of altitude. I think Skydavis' experience of dropping uncontrollably must have to do with an older version of the game.

That makes since becuse when I land on mountains I'm at 0 but when I take off and fly straght I climb considered by the altimimeter but I am flying straght. Thanks man help me out a lot.

Nice research veidar! It helps when we mention tactics and such that we all know the proper alt. and speeds. When Sky said 36,000 feet I thought" no wonder I don't see that guy coming" lol.
