There has been some confusion about the ranks lately since a new system is coming and internally it's already in place but not visible until the 4.0.15 (I hope) update.

4.0.15 will bring 2 new planes. The Albatros D.III and the Nieuport XVII. Planes can be purchased with the points earned during game play, but they also have ranks requirements: you can't fly an Albatros unless you've gained some expertise.

Due to this, new ranks had to be created. Instead of the current 14 there will be 31 different ranks. I didn't want to use numbers to represent them, but with names it's basically impossible to come up with 31 rank names that make some kind of sense. Therefore I did a mix. These will be the new rank names sorted from lowest to highest:

Aspirant
Second Lieutenant
Lieutenant
II Squadron Leader
Squadron Leader
II Lieutenant-Commander
Lieutenant-Commander
II Wing Commander
Wing Commander
III Group Captain
II Group Captain
Group Captain
III Air Commodore
II Air Commodore
Air Commodore
III Brigadier-General
II Brigadier-General
Brigadier-General
III Major-General
II Major-General
Major-General
III Air Vice-Marshal
II Air Vice-Marshal

The main problem is on how to handle the migration. Lot of people will be mad to see their ranks go from current rank 7: "Air Commodore" to all the way down to newer rank system "Lieutenant-Commander".

In reality they are the same rank: 7. Same amount of work to hit the rank 7. But the problem is that used to the old naming convention you feel you've been demoted.

On the other hand if I give a current rank 7 the new Air Commodore title, he turns rank 15. Something that not even gyshan or 420 have right now. It would be unfair for new users because they'd need tons of practice and time to gain the same ranking that used to take an average of 1 week.

Obviously the easiest way to eliminate this perception is just to remove rank names and go to a number system. So rank 7 will always be rank 7 (no name) but it wouldn't be as nice to say "i'm rank 7" as to say, "Wing Commander reporting in".

May I ask for a link or can someone post list of what it takes to rank up. I cant seem to find one. I like to know what or how long untill next rank. Any help be great.

When your flying look above the chat box. The number on left is how many points you have. The number on right is how many points you need to reach the next rank.
Now read thru the forum for how you get the points there are quite a few pertaining to this.

Yep! As Kevy said, you should see an "Experience Bar" near the chat box. You fill up that bar with XP (which you get by shooting planes, zeppelins, bombing hangars, etc) and you'll be onto the next level.

Ok one last question (Probably stupid one) When you tap chat/text box....how big is keyboard? Mine covers about ³/₄^th the game screen....cant see below bout top of throttle lmao

I have HTC Android tablet, it too covers 3/4 of screen - I get my but shot down a lot trying to type and run into anything close!

Yeah, its a big keyboard. Dont type in combat.

Yeap its the same on my LG MyTouch L-739....as well as my HTC Droid2 Incredible(RED)....I'm going to push it to my Motorola Droid3...but I'm pretty sure it'll be the same....there is one chance with the Droid3...the slide out keyboard..might not display on screen.(I preying)

Yeah, slide out keyboards are great. U can use them while dodging bullets. Also, when your walking, hit the space bar to jump. You can only do it with a slide out.
