We've had discussions about dropping in general.

I'd like to hear input specifically about dropping in bomb the carrier missions. It's different than a btb because of the higher tactical advantage of tanks.

I don't usually drop except to face a dropper or to get a tank but when I do I sometimes get whined at. I mostly ignore it now especially since certain guys complain just to "get under your skin" :P

Complaining is viable tactic. I try to do it anytime somebody plays contrary to the way I play. It's psych warfare.

I don't like dropping or droppers, most times. If I'm outnumbered or facing a wall of red, bombs away and spiral in is my way.

Dumping for defense is fully acceptable in my book. I can even kinda sorta accept flying escort (especially if there's a red dumper). Those that drop and sneak around to camp (and ultimately get a tank) bug me. Dumping with superior numbers bugs me too. If my team is doing it, I'll either quit or switch. It's poor sportsmanship, IMO, and I won't help them score a win.

Let me add on caveat. Lower ranked players have to do it sometimes, just to survive, and are still usually unsuccessful against the top players. I get this and don't mind it so much. The only problem is that it's habit forming and continues even after the skills develop. I still let it go. Once they're good enough to get me on a regular basis, I'll match their dumps and offer a dumping truce if they're game. "You dump, I dump and you probably won't like it. Play the mission and I'll play mission. Good luck either way."
Fuck this place. Second rate hack playing in a yard that's too big for him.

I always carry it. After all you can't bomb the base or carrier with out a bomb.

I drop if I have a dropper in the game. Fight fire with fire. You can't survive and neither will your team if you don't.

I drop if I have a sneaker flying around. It gets me high fast and back down fast in response. I usually try my best to put the sneaker back at his base and camp out. I figure its fair. You tried to sneak around to beat me so I camp out in return. Usually stay up a little high so no one else gets involved. I like to close the backdoor and put everyone back on the field. Sneaking in over and over and over must be exhausting. I no longer compliment guys for the sneak attack. No GJ from me.

Dropping and camping are 2 diff things. But one leads to the other. Where do you end up if you win the turning fights? Camping at a base or a carrier without a bomb.

I will camp on a sneaker, a camper, and a spawnkiller. Otherwise I will never camp. I may clip a few guys to stay alive after a run but never excessively.

In a lopsided 6 v 2 or a 7 v 1 IT IS TERRIBLE FORM TO DROP/CAMP/SNEAK.........BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Shows no skill or sportsmanship. I don't care if you drop all the time or not.

I agree, I always carry because I want to bomb. I call delay of game! If outnumbered and it happens, I call foul. I guess the game must be extremely important to them to win it like this.

I love to bomb! How I learned to love the bomb...

I will always carry in BTC. I will keep my bomb and shoot tanks, although there is the rare occasion that I'll drop the bomb on a tank so I can simultaneously shoot at approaching red planes. But if I do that, I'll usually head back to reload, unless blues need protecting.

Pretty much the same deal as BTB.

Manfred

P.S. I like the separate threads too. Very different questions. Maybe start one targeting Parrot, "Game etiquette: Is messing with people's brains against the rules??"

There are certain times ill punch my payload early. The first is with multiple reds coming in to bomb. If i have to defend my carrier, bye bye bomb i need the speed and manueverability. The next is if i make repeated unsuccessful strafing runs on a tank. Then ill drop and either rtb to reload or find some blues to escort to the target. Ill tell ya what gets on my nerves though. Being shot at at long range when im obviously trying to get clear so im not accused of camping. Once you shoot at me of course im gonna turn around and shoot back. Know it can be hard to tell but if im nose cold exfiling the target area, let me go. You'll get your next crack at me soon enough.
