Having done magic all my life, I was wondering if any of you would like to learn a little. If there's an interest I would be happy to share some easy ways to amaze your friends.

First of all...it's a secret.
Secondly..."OUR MAGIC" THREAD! It's open to all & all can contribute.
HEADs up! BUTT, if post off..off topic...vanish.
Turdly...DENT.
FOUR-SOME! TEE OFF!

It takes time to fulfill my desires to only offer the best.

pierce a small hole at the bottom of the beer box. take an squeeze it so it becomes half full, so it appears truncated. Color the top black, so it looks like it has been opened. Add so the beer box somewhere on the way where you and your friend have to go by.
shake the beer box and it will magically blow up again because carbon acid. open it to take a sip.

Nice Paul! Good thread. We, the Cub Scouts, had our Blue and Gold Ceremony/Banquet last nite. The theme for this year was "The Magic of Scouting". Our guest entertainment was a local magician and he amazed the kids with all sorts of slight of hand and good ole comedy. Made me think of you while I was sitting there.

So, with all that said, can I make a request? Have any rope tricks that a novice can pull off? In the pack and troop I'm the knot guy and I'd love to throw a couple tricks in to keep the boys engaged.

My name tag says

"I'm knot crazy,
I'm Mr Gary"

Here's another flourish.

Key points:
1. Elbow up.
2. Back of your fingers level.
3. Fingers curled.
4. Practice. Practice. Practice.
5. Have fun.

Challenges:
1. Fast forward & backward.
2. Multiple coins.
In my prime...4 on each hand.

Grab a deck of cards and amaze yourself.

And, remember, never repeat a trick, unless you can "DAZZLE" them.

The Award itself at the time says more about my parents than about me.

Hi Parrot I loves them knots too! I used to instruct outdoor pursuits and always had fun with a simple rope trick. It involves two people to play it. Instead of trying to explain, look up 'rope escape trick' on youtube. (I can't attach the vid). Its simple, versatile and a good ice breaker especially with new group members... Good luck.

I believe you might be referring to the "Kellar Rope Tie".
I've been doing it forever. Easy, astonishing, and funny.
I've tried to find a video of the explanation, but not much time right now. (I'll keep trying).
Plenty of videos demonstrating it. Do a little research and I'm certain you can find it. You'll find out it's worth the effort.

Go on Paul, reveal the secrets!!!! i.e cutting a rope in half, then it's whole again... :) I was stopped at Glastonbury Festival of contemporary performing arts by a magician, he proper blew my mind. He produced a deck, asked me to choose and mark any one card, not visible to him. the full deck was then shuffled and placed on the back of my hand. With my palms together, he tapped the deck and my card appeared between my hands! I still wonder how, but its best left that way ;)
