Is there anything special it can do other than shoot?
Even than it is very hard to do with the joystick system...

I'm not a soldier fan - they jump too... Tactically, a running soldier that is taking pot shots at flying planes can tie up some defenders and create opportunities for planes. I've seen that in the Bomb the Base game when a soldier pulls the team into defense and off of offense.

The place they can make a difference is when someone parachutes on the carrier deck and shoots planes taking off. You usually can't get in enough rounds to kill them, but at least get them smoking and more vulnerable to the next shot.

I think the soldier on the carrier deck also counts as a landing in capture the carrier - can anyone confirm?

It does, seattle. Glad ur back, btw! :) it does help capture the carrier. :)

They can only jump if you have a slide out keypad. Most people dont. :angry: lol
