In the military fighter pilots are given names by their comrades, anyone have any good nicknames for some of the players they have played against?

I guess I meant a name based on their flying abilities. It's kind of hard actaully, because in the military names may be given for things people do on the ground too, here are some examples...


Me-So - Last name was Horn.

Panic - A pilot in the EA-6B squadron could not make a good carrier landing to save his life. He routinely slammed the bird to the deck, catching the "one wire," hence panicking. "Panic" rhythms with his last name.

Sweets - His mom was the sh*t, and she worked for Hersheys chocolate

Arclight - This guy had a personality like a B-52 strike.

And I will start things out with our own group,

Typo lol that's to good lol.
Some person calls me skyguy it's eather kevy green or Megan or it was planekiller. But that typo one is pretty good and chatter box lol. Poor foo being called grudge makes the guy sound grumpy.

One nickname I've come across several times among pilots in both WWII and WWI literature is "Lofty".

In some cases a pilot might have earned this nickname because he liked to fligh high, - or he may simply have been a bit taller than the others.

To become a pilot you've always had to be within certain limits in body size in order to fit into the cockpit and to reach the controls easily. So everybody would be more or less the same size, and one who was at the upper end of the scale would stick out like a sore thumb.

The nicknames used while chatting in the game are not really nicknames.

In the game, you risk to be shot if you spend too much time at the keyboard, or you may crash into a zep or the ground or even the into edges of the world.

The (excuse me) ridiculously long names most of you have chosen are impossible to use in that context. Players just have to abbreviate as best they can.

Normally they write just the letters that it takes for a message to be read by the right person, and most often it will be full of typos:

Player BP = "BP"
Green Freedom = "green" or "grn" or "free" or even "GF"
B Strachan = "strach"
Calvinisawesome = "calvn" or "awesm"
Whatsupdogfight = "wassup", "doggy"

Writing in this forum many people tend to do the same thing: to reduce long-sentence names into single words.

just like to point out that in game, im [e]CalvinTheGreat, i havent been CalvinIsAwesome since we got the ability to change our names. I became Calvin The Great, then when i joined Engima, I added the [e] and eliminated the spaces.
