I thought it would be fun to look up the meaning behind the various players names, at least those that seemed to have meaning....

Slenderman - Slender Man, also known as Slenderman, is a mythical creature often depicted as being tall and thin, wearing a black suit with a white shirt and necktie, and having a blank face. He can stretch out or shorten his arms at will, and can have tentacle-like appendages protruding from his back. He can move throughout various dimensions and often "appears" as if he can travel throughout time/space. He has inspired fan arts, fictional stories (creepypastas) and videos. In most images, he can be seen somewhere in the background...observing before abducting/attacking.

Meganmae123 - Megan Mae - A girl who's hardcore, alt. rock and really cool. She has friends. Megan Mae loves to party and she chills with her beezes. Everyone loves Megan Mae. (I didn't make this up either guys, it's in the urban dictionary!)

Pownage - An alternate version of "ownage". Term used mainly in online shooters, where one person is displaying superior and winning traits. Part of "the internet speak"; synonyms include "twnage", "ownage", "lwned"

*430* - 430 - Year 430 (CDXXX) was a common year starting on Wednesday of the Julian calendar. At the time, it was known as the Year of the Consulship of Theodosius and Valentinianus (or, less frequently, year 1183 Ab urbe condita). The denomination 430 for this year has been used since the early medieval period, when the Anno Domini calendar era became the prevalent method in Europe for naming years.

Green Freedom - A variety of things, from environmental groups, to alternative fuels, to militia groups.

Player BP - The name that was assigned to me on the first online multi-player game I played on my phone, again on this game I was unable to type, stuck with it ever since. Kinda lame I know, but it's a name.

While everyone above me may or may not have chosen there name's based on the meaning I put here, post why you chose your name. Or if you didn't know your name had meaning, check it out!

B) :( :) :cheer: ;) :P        :silly:     :woohoo: :side: :S   :pinch: - I always wanted to do that.

And what about your own name, Player BP?

BP would be "British Petroleum" or?

When I look up their website I find several nice mottos for dogfighters:

"BP’s business is the distributing of energy...."

"there are occasions when... (you have) to work very hard and unsociable hours"

"BP aims to make every well deeper,... and every tank of petrol cleaner"

Bp I might have some help on why your chat isn't working.

Whenever I have a problem with dogfight, I uninstall (why)

Because it might have downloaded wrongly, or missed something

When downloading. So try that. If I doesn't work then wait for the update. ;)

But reinstall after a few seconds

Hamers - a tool....lololol...sorry, I had to. Seriously though....

Recorded as Hamer, Hammer, Hamor, and Hammor, this is a pre-medieval English surname. It has two possible origins. The first is locational from the village of Hamer, near Rochdale, in the county of Lancashire. The derivation is from the Olde English pre 7th century word "hamor" meaning a rock or crag. Most name holders in the north of the country are from this origin. The second source is early German, Flemish or Dutch, being a metonymic occupational name for a maker of hammers, or perhaps a user of a hammer, and deriving from the word "hamar" meaning stone. This is clearly an example of a transferred meaning, as hammers have generally been made of metals since at least Roman times. Early examples of the surname recording taken from surviving rolls and registers include: John le Hammer in the pipe rolls of the county of Sussex in the year 1332, whilst John de Heymer is recorded in "Baines History of Lancashire" in 1461. Katerina Hamer married Thomas Anderson, at St. Andrew's Enfield, in the county of Middlesex, on July 22nd 1560, and Ralph, the son of Ralph Hamer, was christened at St. Nicholas Acons, in the city of London, on February 16th 1589. Edward and James Hamer, who were Irish famine emigrants, sailed from Liverpool to New York aboard the ship "Windsor-Castle" on June 9th 1847. Throughout the centuries, surnames in every country have continued to "develop" often leading to astonishing variants of the original spelling.

Hamers is a common surname in the Netherlands, but not elsewhere.

There is no Hamers in RAF's lists from WW1,
but there is one Hamer:

JOHN HAROLD HAMER.
6161 SJT. PILOT
22 Sqd. Royal Flying Corps.
Killed in Action 9.9.1917

Ok, I see somebody has given my name to a fishing boat. :-).

When it eventually is scrapped or sinks and they have to buy a new one, that will be Veidar 2!

You must right click on the photo and click on the bottom option on the menu that appears. Copy the url, and paste it into the image link box that appears when you click on the green square with a chain under it in the menu line of this editor.:-)

Or you may enclose the link in the image codes of the editor by hand, like this:
[img] etc.etc ["slash"img].

(I had to write "slash" in place of the end-image slash in the example above, to make the editor display the codes)

If you copy and paste a link into the editor, without using the tools in the menu line, you will end up with a clickable hypertextual link in the message, which is the best option unless the picture is quite small.

I choose to think of you as the distributor of energy: - with your writing you inspire and give energy to others, or you may do it in a more simple way by letting your machine guns supply the energy!

"veidar" or "veidemann" is old Norse for hunter. One who roams the fields and woods in search for prey.

I chose that as my in-game name because I like to go hunting for mountain grouse, and the landscape of Dogfight reminded me of my favourite mountain-grouse hunting grounds. This forum for some reason didn't allow me to use the same name, so I changed it into "Veidar-2". :-)

We have ruffed grouse here in Pennsylvania . My favorite prey and meal. They prefer brushy woodlands.

Speaking of names, who just became Thunderforce?!? Just tagged me five times (before my coffee) and reminds me of someone else who used to be able to do that...

My name: I started out as Rookie Pilot (remember me?) which kind of wore out after I ranked up so I chose the name of my current hometown. But was also inspired by Chief Seattle - a great leader, warrior, orator, ambusher, and diplomat. My avatar photo is a fake I did of a Spad circling Seattle's Space Needle).
