I wanted to put names of our pack members somewhere near each plane but I could find a cite that will let me use the pixels I want. What cite(s) do you use?

i use this site for text cooltext.com/ then i apply the piture in gimp and then overlay the text and then resize the text and maneuver it like i did with cyphers name on his plane

Being the old fart traditionalist that I am, I still am partial to our header reading Realm of the Wolf Pack. For some reason that phrase just gets my blood pumping. Especially when I watch Whips banner. The Wolf howls, the water ripples, the Wolf head goes down and then rises up to Howl at the moon. In the second match that He Jiezhi is one good pilot gave me a run for my money, in the first game clock went from full time to almost a draw....idk how but I kept making it drag on longer ;-;

I would really like to see the star awards brought back. It seems a 30 kill game might be a close match to a 50 kill game in DF1 for 1 star, A 45 could be 2 stars, 70 = 3 star and 80 and above 4 stars. What do you guys think. Could these goals be achieved? We could use a different character then a star to differentiate from DF1 from Elite. Whats your take Viper? We got some really hungry blood thirsty pilots just burning to have a goal to achieve

I'm agree those seem achievable enough, got close enough to 30 if we were doing this I would have made sure to get 30 kills

Cypher, I think that is a great idea. I wasn't aware that we'd really stopped awarding stars, though I think we should certainly keepdoing it. As we settle in to Elite it may be good to adjust as you recommended, different requirements for a bit of a different game.


What ever the requirements may be, guess I have an addition to my goals list.

1. Reach level 20

2. Achieve a positive K:D (getting close to that one)

3. Unlock WW2

4. Get shiny stars to put next to my WP tag

Went to a place with some "haunted houses" tonight and one attraction was called Wolf Pack. After touring their grounds I've determined that our pack is much more civilized

Let me chime in here on this. I agree, I would love to see the awards come back too but I have some requirements which need to be met before that happens.

To be clear, the awards never went away, its just they aren't as easy to achieve as before due to the games differences compared to the original.

First of all, if we are to set up an awards system for elite the actual award itself would need to be different. Lots of folks earned stars for number of kills in legacy df. I don't want to see those go away. They were hard earned and worn with a degree of pride in the accomplishment they signify. However, if we are to set up an award system for elite, since the numbers required would obviously have to be lower, the award should be different, yet still wearable on one's banner or behind their name in battle. What I need are ideas/suggestions on exactly what the award should be since the * is out of the picture. Im throwing that squarely in everyones lap to generate ideas.

The second thing we need to hash out is exactly what numbers would merit an award? What numbers are difficult to achieve? What have other folks been able to achieve? Additionally, what, if any, changes are coming down the pike for elite that may affect the ability to earn awards? Reading the above suggestion, is 80 an achievable mark? Has anyone ever hit this number either in our squad or any other squad?

The awards shouldn't be easy to get, folks should have to work for them and therefore be proud of them. They should also be something that isn't totally out of reach either.

Trust me when I say handing out awards is the most enjoyable part of my role here in Wolf Pack, and I would love to see some players getting awards and recognition again.

Shoot me suggestions either here or via pm and lets get the ball rolling on this. What I want to do is look at several different ideas and come up with something we can use to recognize outstanding performance. Oh, and I would like to see this all happen yesterday. It has been way too long since one of us has been recognized.

The more folks that weigh in the better here, so don't be shy. What would you like to see us do, within the parameters of what I have layed out as requirements?

I think it's not a bad idea to have separate awards for the two games. I suppose we could still call these "stars" but Elite Stars, whereas the old ones are Dogfight Stars. Or something like that. Looking at my keyboard here (iOS), symbols that could be used are +, §, •, ^,=.

Now what could be cool is a character not found on the mobile device. This is achieved by copying it to your clipboard from, say, the den. Or just an email or webpage, etc.


These characters from a pc show up in game but just not on the ingame menu.


One idea is several different symbols for the levels. For example:

30 kills: BillyBob{WP+}

50 kills: BillyBob{WP»} or BillyBob{WP⟩⟩}

60 kills: BillyBob{WP§}

70 kills: BillyBob{WP§§} (or another symbol)

80 kills(or highest level): BillyBob{WP∞}

I think the § and ∞ would be the coolest for highest levels with that idea.



The OTHER idea is to use the stars but different looking stars. Likely these ones:

BillyBob{WP※}

BillyBob{WP※※}

BillyBob{WP※※※}

And so on.

This kind of goes to the different stars theme, where the other symbols are really a new award altogether.

Depends if we like to put a new chapter in wolf heritage or make something completely different.

It actually can be both. The "heritage" would be the existing stars remaining as awards. While it would be unfortunate that new players will not have the opportunity to achieve them too, the elite awards will be unobtainable for the folks who have moved on or don't play with regularity.

I agree the new system should have new symbols, but not sure we want something not available to all devices. I also like the idea of one character for the different award levels because it will keep name changes minimal when someone adds an award to their name. Good thinking!
