I managed to squeak in a couple of games today, and was lucky enough to fly with our very own EgorDogg and navmed. Good times, and lots of howling!

How the heck is every one ? Great thread Dire regarding the state of the game and forum. I Feel the Pack is in great shape and our forum as well. It has periods of none stop posts and then it has some low periods. But all in all most members visit and leave a TY or a post. Being summer I believe a lot of our members are also doing other activities and do not play as much. May day is a great example. That guy is always on a cool fishing trip or kayaking, hiking etc. I am sure Dunc is busy with music gigs and so on. Lunas has been busy with school and had to concentrate on that(good job lunas) and I am sure other WP members have Family that need time with there Alpha. As we head into fall and winter the game will pick up. So keep up the good work guys. I am very proud to be a part of this squad. I have not seen a post from Dera in awhile. He usually is our most frequent member to post. If you are out there Dera give us a Howl brother. Just droppin' by to howl a little, maybe even fly some tonight. Just a few more weeks and I'll be back to full time , and I'm ready too!

Cypher, my bud! I miss little arms too. He always could take a joke and was an all around good guy. I think you nailed it on my post--the positive attitude of 'welcome to the best game' is lacking lately.

It'll take some work, but let's bring it back. Like Viper said, one positive post a day and keep the game alive.

Some thoughts:
1. Fire up the WP recruiting thread. We can try and engage it here AND on WC. Since we are allied with GI's perhaps we can get them involved.

2. Bring back some contests to win a star on banner. Since we now have 80 minutes we can reward the most kills in Elite.

3. Remember the Gold List? Find the player who supports and helps most in game and write about it.


WP/GI can work together and make it happen!

I am all for contests. I am the The Wolf that has been delegated to organize and promote events. I am sad to say due to my laptops inability to handle Df elite,(I think my laptops hard drive has been somewhat fried from playing so much) I feel I cannot hold a fair organized tourny. This is due to my constant game freezes and connection loss. Dire early on in Elite when Elite had server options like DF1 I held a banner of a tourny. Many Wolfs and GI members took part. Viper took the crown. We had a blast flooding the servers. We had 20 min bouts in each region and tallied total kills. At the end we took many screenshots of all players parked together at the Jolly Roger. There is even the Official Wolf Pack Tournament thread that was created to promote these contests and Elite. If you have a stable system and would like to host such a event I would love to help. I can promote it, Organize it, help with format, and give advice on what has worked in the past. But I cannot be the one to over see it and tally scores. It would not be fair as I would be constantly kicked from game. Let me know if you would like to shoulder this responsibility? I will help get it off thee ground?

My system is not fried, but limited. For some reason I can't take screen shots and post like I did in DF1. I think it may have to do with my uploading a number of work related software programs--who knows! The Dire is all Paws when it comes to computers.

I'm sure we can think of something fun if we put our furry heads together.

Here's a question;

What is everyone's highest kill count so far in elite? My numbers are quite unremarkable, and I think the most I have had to date are less than 20. However, my game is very unstable and yesterday I couldn't last longer than 7-9 minutes before getting the screen freeze of death... twice on final approach during bomb runs. Ugh!

Couple months ago before the screen freeze issue and timer I was consistently over 50 kills. Now maybe 5 to 15. but usually kicked after 3 kills im sad to say

I hit 12 total one night. It was a BTC in WWI plane.. I would have had more, but the game ended quick. That's the highest I've had---think it will be tough to have 100 again in Elite unless the timer goes.

I honestly haven't been keeping track. Normally what happens is I look during a respawn, but it isn't every time. Normally the game has to be going for a bit before I even check stats aside from the initial entry into the game to see who is playing. I know my total was at least 10, since I won a dogfight a week or so back, but likely nowhere near 20, as I really do still get kicked from almost every game. Now that your score resets even if you re-enter the same game on the same side it is very difficult to get high numbers, at least for me. I suspect I am not alone, but nobody seems to be talking about, complaining about, or addressing the issue with the game being so unstable.

Could it be the game itself is a contributing factor as to why the forum is slow? Hard to come here and brag, or even complain, about games and players, scores, and the like with the current state of things.

Perhaps its time to take a trip down memory lane and post some of our favorite screenshots from our history.... Ill go digging and see what I can find from the archives.

YES! I think it's hard to go from 50-100 kills in a game and brag about 10-12. I don't think it will change---but can we change what we brag about. Such as number of hangars? Just tossing ideas.

Skeeter, I agree with Cypher---damn good pic of Pmoon hunting the reds.

I'm not so sure that it's the timer anymore with it at 80 minutes, although it would be hard to average more than a kill per minute, I think the lower threshold for a win is speeding up the game a little tool much. I haven't had a game time out yet since the update with the 80 minute timer but I have had a lot of games where it's a really good game and someone gets that third hanger and you're done! Last night was an example where I knew we had got a couple and I was close to the red base and decided to engage the other players in some turn fighting when I could have easily gotten the last hanger and ended the game.
