Aside from never fly in a straight line, I need some tips from some of the people in top 100 on better fighting, flying and evasion.

use the terrain to gain a tactical advantage. Learn to fly low and skim the treetops. When I was a noob I hid behind anything and anyone I could... plus you are more likely to successfully parachute without getting killed in the chute. Getting the 50 points for landing will help you rank up much faster. As you get better and get better planes you will want altitude, but in the beginning you are a much easier target up high.

Good luck!

Oh, and feel free to discount this advice. I am not in the top 100

Since I am only in the top 200 I have nothing to offer...so fly upside down and drop your bomb... It's a great way to avoid getting shot.

And if you try this you will realize that Viper, in fact, has better advice than Comet.

Watch the good guys and copy what they do. Practice your head on shooting (i used to aim at trees when no one was in game).

Best way is to stay in games, don't quit , you will find one day the pilots that used to fill you with dread become easy kills. If you want to learn turning fighting then play dogfight and capture the flag games.

Turn the trees and clouds off.

Set sensitivity to highest level if you want to have a chance in a turn encounter.

Learn to shoot. A steady hand is a must. Many really good straight on fighters slow their airspeed to btw 80 and 100 when shooting. It steadies the plane. They also learn to fly carring their bombs which also provides greater stability for shooting.

Learn to lead the enemy with your fire. Shoot where they will be not where they are. The farther away, the more you must lead. This is more important when they are not flying directly at you.

Learn where to shoot to hit the plane. This will come with experience. How far below the yellow indicator.

Watch the better players and learn from them.

I am only ranked 112, so you might take all this with a grain of salt.

I would have to agree with the dog on this one, it does u no good to get shot down and still have rounds that haven't been fired! Shoot first and don't let up, keep firing until they are shot down and dead in the chute!!

Pray and spray... it's worked thus far for me...

What you need to do is hunker down, some where dark preferably. Away from the usual distractions, drink plenty of fluids (Beer works well the cold kind), take a deep breath choose your map and hold your breath praying you'll be on the team that has the least chance of accomplishing the task the game has put before you..... builds character and skills.... no one got any good on the shirt tails of the likes of hulk, crocket, Mean, Fate, Namitt to and the Comets of dogfight. Don't let comet BS you, he Flys like a girl, he'll tell you something different, if his wife gives you some advice heed it she is awesome. Anyway you wanna get good? Drop the girlfriend now (you just get dropped later) plan on getting you behind shot to little tiny peace and in many months you'll learn how to cope with rage quiting and see some small improvement and a tinny bit of skill that will make you say to your self "Wait, did I just do that?" And when it's not your own hangers you accidentally bombed you know you are getting some where here in this game.
carry your bomb to the target, show your a top pilot by not camping be friendly and mostly have fun. It's not worth the social retardation you'll experience if you don't have fun here.......

Oh yes, McFate has real help with the post you can go to. Try that too

Welcome, hope to see you in the sky's

Honestly, learning how to play this game is like learning how addresses work, or sin/cos/tangent ratios. It's hopeless, then one morning, you wake up and you magically know how to do it. Then you have a bad game and blame lag.

All that aside, chose what kind of pilot you want to be, and practice that. Wanna be a tanker? Practice... Get shot down in a ffa and try to hit carriers or houses in the village. Turnfighter? Pray, then get shot down a billion times by the good turnfighters. Strategician? Learn the map, when to sneak, and how to direct a blue team. Cannon fodder/infantry? Learn the long head on shot and the bob/weave on bombing approach. Resign yourself to sucking at all but one of these for a while.

There are certain tips or tricks but they have been mentioned above, but really the only way you're going to learn is to fly.

If you ask my squad mates they would tell you (as they keep bringing up to me) how I use to always complain about having bent gun barrels, a big target painted on the side of my magnetic plane, which of course was loaded with blanks. But over time I started getting better and better and just a couple days ago reached level 30.

Here are some little pieces of advice:
  • never really care about your kill:death ratio, in time you'll see you get better and better
  • Don't leave a game, when you know you're going to lose, you still get points for losing, IF you stay to the end (funny I still see some morafs leave), and losses don't count against you.
  • If planes are coming in with guns blazing, and you know you can't take off without getting killed, just hit your breaks, you become immune (but not to bombs).
  • Don't get upset, even when you have a crappy plane, and going against morafs that are just shooting down like crazy, and you're upset. Accept the lesson, and ask if they can take it easy on you or maybe help you out. Some may try to change sides for you, others (like myself) will watch you and help you out.

On playing fair:
  • NEVER tank spawn kill. What this means is to get a tank, drive it to the place where planes spawn and you shoot them as they appear. This is the one offense that the creator of the game (Zuperman) said will cause you to be banned.
  • Treat others like you would like to be treated, even if others play dirty, if you don't like it done to you, don't do it back.

I want to thank all you guys for your great advice! :cheer:

I also want to thank B [M] for helping me out in game a few days ago. That was a great combat flying lesson! Please make sure he sees this if you talk to him.

I do play a lot of airplane games. Examples are "Heroes over Europe" and "Pacific Hero" on the PS3, "Pacific Fighter", the "Sky Gamblers" series (android) and a couple PC flight simulators. I'm glad I found this one too!
