I'm sorry for asking such a silly question, but what do you do with the flag?
I collected it and flew back to base, where I then triumphantly landed with it! Nothing happened? What should I have done?

You need to drive it over the green dot. You also need to have both flags there.

yes, the green dot, just roll oer it slowly with the flag and you will see a message saying you captured the flag.

The other flag must also be at your base, so it the reds have your flag you can't win til you get it back (to capture your flag back, shoot the red guy with it then fly/roll through the flag and it will return to your base)
