my dogfight in windows 8.1 was working well, then recently upon my opening it, it started going to the light blue screen briefly then minimizing. uninstalled then reinstalled several times, did not help. I saw startup issues on other op systems, but not 8.1. Any ideas?

Just uninstall dogfight completely by using following command and then reinstall. uninstalling from the app windows doesn't remove all the files. So try the following commands and let me know.

Run Windows Powershell Command with administration command

1. Get-appxpackage –Name *part of package name*
e.g. > Get-appxpackage –Name *dog*
2 remove-appxpackage FEF09289.Dogfight_1.1.0.24_x86__djayc63bxkq60 –confirm

you can try shutting down your computer completely and waiting for a while before turning it back on. what you are saying has happened to me a lot of times, its no big deal if turning your computer off doesn't work then just don't play the game for while 1-3 hours or a couple of days.

Mine did the exact same thing and it took creating a whole new user account on my windows 8.1 laptop and installing dogfight there. Works now from second account, my main account never did get fixed and has never worked since. Downside is I have to log out of my main account to play, and log out of my dogfight only account to post here.... Kind of a pain

I need to sit down someday and try Ishan's solution... that is one I didn't try.

sorry it took so long to reply, Ishan. problem is i do not have full rights, and have tried to fix that, but not successfully. i may have to do the new account mentioned by Viper10. i really do not want to go back to level 1 though.

well, I found the problem! I had Total Defense antivirus program installed and it blocked this and many other programs. I uninstalled it and loaded AVG Free instead. Now all programs work again. I will be glad to be in the skies again!

Glad you got the solution. You can use even your previous antivirus nut put dogfight game under exception category to ignore the same from scanning and allowing full rights.

thanks for the tip, Ishan. Total Defense was messed up and ignored all exceptions and "allow always" commands on the popups. I uninstalled it and reinstalled, no change. I am glad to be rid of it.

I had this problem on one profile and could not fix it. I loaded DF on the other profile and it worked fine until lately. I am now not able to fix it on either profile. I have tried the conventional uninstall as well as the powershell code 'remove' and have been successful with the uninstall but with the new installations it still minimizes. I checked my virus scanner and firewall. Dogfight is listed on both as allowed. I even disabled the scanner and firewall for a short time to try an uninstall and reload with no positive affect.
Still not able to play.

Glortega first you have to uninstall the game from both the profile. Restart the system then reinstall the game. I hope that it will solve your issue.
