Help! I cannot log in to play at all. The app starts to open and then immediately minimizes to an icon on my taskbar. Has anyone had this issue and how do I fix it? I am on a dell laptop running windows 8.1. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app several times with no luck.

you're not the only one, I have a thread on this issue along with once uninstalling, not being able to get the app back from the windows store...

So I waited a few days after the new update came out to see if anyone had any issues, did not hear anything so went for it and….yes I have problems now. App or game starts I can see and use the chats and I can see the planes and new colors skim, but when I tried to join a game does the loading count down and there it stops. I can only see the word loading and a black screen; left it for a few minutes and nothing. Last update I had issues with the game and did updates to laptop and that help, but this time around it is not working. Did all new updates to win and nothing. I am on a lap top and running win 8.1; I was wondering if I uninstall the game and try to install it back, will I lose all my game progress?? But now I see that you guys write that the app has been pull out of the store. Is this because they found out it had problems? Are they fixing it? Any info on this issue by any of the mods or administrators of the forum?? Do you recommend that we do not uninstall the app?? If you have any answers we would all appreciate it, thank you.

A few minutes ago went to the Win Store and saw there was another new update for the game, so did the download and……. I DID NOT WORK; still having the same problem. Stops when logging in to a game on the countdown login. Hope they keep trying to fix it.

I've just posted about this on the announcement section but basically you should move the game, then restart the computer and install the game again from apps.microsoft.com/windows/en-us/app/dog...a4-885a-d5ae4d00e1e5

Maybe I am doing something wrong because when I uninstall the app it kinda stays in the store under my apps as being purchased but not installed so I never have to find it again to install it, if that makes sense. When I go to the store and look it tells me I purchased the app on 02/02/2014 and it is not installed. I install it and still have no luck. Is there a way to uninstall it further that I need to do to see if that works? Also will my game progress be lost? It was fun getting where I am but I would hate to have to come back up through the ranks again. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I will go and check out the thread in announcements concerning this and see if I cant get back in the air.

if you reinstall the app and go back into multiplayer you continue where you were.
Only the training missions are lost because those are not stored on the server.

I hate to keep bugging you zup but I didn't see the post in announcements about how to move and reinstall the app. Mine still wont open. Im beginning to think it is a computer problem and not an app problem. I need a Windows 8.1 guru methinks.

I believe he means remove the game or app, and then restart the computer to make sure it is completely remove and then go to the Win store and get the app again and install it. Ziza told me that you should create a face book account before erasing the game and try to link it to the game, this as a backup to save your game progress. I myself do not have a Facebook account, so I will have to create one before I try this, if you do make it work for you without the Facebook thing please let me know. Or if you think this is not necessary Zuperman let us know. In my case I log in to the game without having to write any pass word or log in name , app does it automatic, so that is why I have the worries about losing my game progress. Will let you all know how it goes when I do try it. Good luck and thanks for the help Zuperman.

I have the same concerns about the game progress because my app logged in for me and if there was a username or password associated with it I have long forgotten it. As far as uninstalling the app and then reinstalling it goes I had the app uninstalled for days, turning my computer off several times over the course of those days. Still nada on the reinstall making it work. I get the impression it may be my computer or O/S because I have several "pinned" apps that wont open either. Nobody I know is familiar with windows 8.1 to have ever seen this before or know a fix for it. Funny out of all the apps that wont work now the only one I miss is dogfight.

same here dell laptop with 8.1 and windows aint servin dogfight. read another post where they uninstalled and reinstalled and they posted a pic of it sayin no longer available in windows store. had to go to dogfightplay.com just to get in forum to see im not alone. looks like windows dropped it and sure don't see nuthin from zup about it but it seems like it is all of us on windows at the moment

acegirl all my other apps are working fine just dogfight isn't, not sure whats up but lookin like its a lot of windows users

I didn't notice anything strange about this game. I was able to update the game and still worked fine in entering servers and also, the DF is still appearing in the Windows Store without any problem. It's very unusual why other windows 8.1 players are having this issue .

Maybe you should check the announcement section. I replied to this a few times but there is an announcement section for important stuff... that nobody reads apparently :/

Got it fixed. I had to create a second windows account, install the app under the new account, and I am back in business! Works like a champ! There is plenty of information out there concerning windows 8.1 and apps not working, along with many fixes. None worked for me so I had to make another account. Bottom line, see you all in the air!

I am glad you are back Viper10, I just got mine to work tooooooo!!!! As Zuperman said I uninstall the app, turn computer off, then back on again, went to the Win Store and look for the app, said I had it but also had the green tab that said download, so I started the download and install it. Started with the plane movies and then ask me if I wanted to log in with my e mail account or face book account, I went for e mail; that was a challenge tried like 7 to 8 combination passwords but finally got it. Had a big scare because the game started me with the lowest level plane and I had no rank, so I thought I lost all progress, but when I join a game I said I was at level 27, when I came out of game I had all my info back and all planes back, nothing was lost. So that was the play by play of how I got it to work. I first did all lap top updates and an advance system care scan. Then went for the Zuperman instructions. So goooooood luck to the ones still having probs, hope you can solve them soooooon. And many thanks to Zuperman and everyone that try to help. THANK YOU!!!

Acegirl, that is exactly how mine worked as well. Started from scratch and as soon as I logged in and started a game it advanced me to my current level. (19) Figured I would take the time to register the game via facebook so I will have the password for the next time windows 8.1 acts up. In the meantime, welcome back Acegirl!

I connected with Facebook from the beginning. Do i have an e-mail acoount then or no? Facebook keeps acting up, this is what I get after loggin in with Facebook (all planes and upgrades are ok, icluding points earned and coins)

Once I log into a server, it promotes me to my current rank, and I have all coins in the in game screen;

I also only see the bottom colors of the servers (so i can't spot if a server is full or not).

I already tried deleting etc, but it Always messes up once I log in with Facebook (and i reinstalled it the way told above a couple of times now).
