This has probably been asked, answered and discussed before but I am looking for some information. I really enjoy the game, one might even say I am addicted. Anyway, I created my own squad and I would love to have an awesome banner. So here are some questions:

What size does the banner need to be?
Any specific file type or code?
How do I upload the banner to my squad thread?
Anything I need to know that I am not asking?

find the banner factory thread.. There's a couple out there.

Hey Digger, Ghost here. I can help out a little bit. But not much. I don't make banners. But I do know how to upload and what they use.
First off they use tinypic, postiimgage.org or some other banner maker. Once the banners are finished, they produce their own codes. In which you copy and past in your profile. Here is a link on how to add banners to your profile.

What size does the banner need to be?

max width so it doesn't get chopped off is 730px

Any specific file type or code?

Any jpg png or gif but you have to host it, which means uploading to a place like photobucket so you can get the address or URL for the pic.

How do I upload the banner to my squad thread?

Usually the banner is attached to the signature part of your profile on the forum. If you are making art for your 1st post on your squad thread its the same method that ghost posted in terms of the img tags.

Thanks for your help. I am having some minor trouble. I have been able to add a banner to my pilot profile but I have not been able to figure out how to add a banner to my squad? Squad is Wolf Pack. I am wondering if I have not set up my squad thread properly or I just don't know what I am doing. Thanks for any help you can offer on this.

I don't know if you already had help for this but others ask the same questions so it might help to post the answers anyway. For your own squad forum section you cannot create one you are given one by Zuperman when he deems your squadron worthy by whatever criteria he feels approiate. The process is roughly like this:

-player(s) create a squad and make a thread in the squadron section on the forum.
-after about 10 members and maybe 5 to 10 pages of chatter you will get pinned.
(means your thread is now yellow and remains at the top of the squadrons area below the squadrons who have their own section)
-at about 20 members and around 30 pages of chatter you will get your own section.

Now these are not rules it just seems to be what I have seen. If you grab 20 random players and just post jibberish to get to 30 pages you will not have a section. It more depends on the likelihood if you existing long term and that your players require such things to be able to use the forum with greater ease.

As for a banner for your squadron I do not know what you really mean. You can be talking about one of three things:

1 Banner for the forum like mine below that when someone joins your squad it gets added...would be nice but doesn't exist and you would have to send them a generic one to add like the instructions you were given before in this thread.

2 Logo on post 1 of your squadrons official thread. Usually the owner of the squad makes the thread so you can go back and edit the threads first post and add any pic you like so long as it isn't rude or hate based.

3 The name above the plane when in game. This you create in game after entering multiplayer you see world chat and then a button on the lower right that says squadrons. Go there and then you will see a button that says new. It will cost you 100,000 coins to make a squad and once you have made it anyone who is accepted into the squad will have that squadrons name above them in game and be able to use the squad chat also on the world chat screen.
