I am only posting this so Zup won't need to ask these questions:
1. What device are you on?
2. Have you recently updated your device?
3. Have you recently updated the game?
4. How long have you been having this problem?
5. Can you give us screenshots? (Windows + volume down)
6. Have you dropped/done any physical damage to your device?
7. Did you uninstall, then COMPLETELY shut down (take out the battery/ hold down the power button) then MANUALLY restart, and then reinstall?
He needs more information than this to diagnose and solve your problem.

Windows 8.1 is generally laptop. This probably means the update hasn't gone into effect. This problem has been going on all day, to my knowledge. No need for screenshots. The game simply wont leave the opening blue screen we laptop users get. Obviously, dropping a laptop would do more damage than one app going goofy. I myself am in the process of uninstalling and reistalling. Sooooo.... we'll see.

I now also have the same problem and cannot play... Win 8.1

Worked fine yesterday, won't load today...

the blue screen from hell =-(

After deleting Dogfight & reloading it I can play mine.. however, now neither of my top tier planes have the flight characteristics of a top tier plane.. not the old lineup nor the new.. my Spad outperforms my SE5a.. my Red Baron flies like the previous version's Red Baron rather than a top tier plane.. (& I watch other players Red Baron planes just outrun & out-turn mine) & my Albatros D.V.a is no longer top tier of course & flies correspondingly.

It sucks...

Oh, I was kinda hoping I'd gotten better at turn-fighting...

Windows 8.1 can be a desktop version, a laptop version, and the one that I use, Windows 8.1 RT for ARM devices (tablet) When I saw blue screen I thought you meant like a Blue Screen blue screen. Besides, I do tech support and I went through the standard procedural questions.

So uninstall then reinstall seems to do the trick...

I also agree about the planes and i'm a little let down that the awesome plane I had purchased (spent real money on) is now a P.O.S... kinda not happy that if I want to still compete, I have to fly a plane that resembles Thomas the train.. the red baron plane makes me gag, I want my plane back...

you should know whether you have it because the Fokker Dr.1 is not red.

Let me know whether this fixes the issue with speed and windows 8.1 game blue screens.

probably you need to reinstall the game. Remove the current version and reinstall on top of it

I had/have the update and it was working yesterday morning(Wednesday) but hasn't all day or night. just saw a screenshot on another thread that shows windows store saying this app is no longer available in windows store, I didn't see it when I went to store. but there is a screenshot on here saying that. I believe beckon posted it but I may be wrong ive been reading all these now and cant remember who posted what but there is a shot of it.

no mine makes it to the second one with the planes on it and dogfight sprawled across thee top the desktop pops up and it turns to a little icon in task bar. was werkin yesterday morning, flying slow a Christmas but werking now nada
