You know i havent tried it yet but if you use android you may be able to find a usb 2.0 to mini usb adapter. Im not even sure if such a thing exists or if flight controllers would even be compatible with the os on phones or tablets but it might be worth looking into

Yeah HD.. but me & toph are both on laptops.. so trying to figure out how to hook up a joystick to a laptop where it overrides the keyboard control arrows & letter functions is what he is referring to I think.

Dang! Well that kills that idea.. unless some seriously computer savvy person can tell us how to replace the keyboard functions with the joystick.. I am pretty sure it's possible.. at least I thinks so.. maybe someone with a lot of knowledge experience will give us a clue lol!

Get a phone or a tablet and use motion control.

Thats easy, usb plugin. Then load the software (some sticks use a software disk when you first plug them in) then calibrate. As long asits plugged in and you have joystick selected it should work.

Tried the windows software program to substitute joystick input for keyboard input... no go. DF on Win8 does not want to work with a USB joystick...at least not my USB joystick.

Did you trouble shoot to test if an earlier version of Windows will run it btschuman?

How does the joy stick differ then a controller, as in the game will allow you to use a X-Box controller, but not a PS3 controller. Could it be only some models of joysticks work.

Do you have to click anything or run something for the X-box controller to work in game? Would you have to do anything like that with a joystick then for it to work?

How does the key mapping work? Do you set the stick to act as if your using the arrow keys on a laptop, or...?

Using the key board arrow keys is painful, and there are a number of other disadvantages I'll not reveal to you non keyboard users lol.

I got the feeling it is DF that doesn't recognize the joystick. It calibrated just fine, and the translator software worked on another game app that had obviously been programmed to accept the input. DF simply did not work with it. I did not have any other kind of controller on hand, so don't know if this and an Xbox/PS/Nintendo issue...

I have tryed with a gamepad for PC/PS3 Game (Genius) in the PC version for Windows 8 and did not work... lol, I think Zup has to configure this option to be available.
