So I finally got home and was able to update to the new version for my iphone. The graphics are really bad. Having no patience, I guess I'll just wait till the new version comes out, and then I get home where I can download it.

Have you tried turned my off shadows etc? Might help.

I turned off the shadows, that helped the graphics, but the whole game is playing like I'm going in slow motion. It's jumpy, freezing, planes darting everywhere, unresponsive....
I guess MORAF will have to wait another year. I've had really bad luck with this game for months now. Every once in a while, I get a good update and it's great. Then I'm required to update again and it just goes all to hell for a while. I know that it's a feat to make all of these devices work together, but if they won't do so well, what's the point?

Yea, it wouldn't let me play until I updated. And I have to have wifi to do so, so unless I find it in my travels, I'm stuck with this for a while.

This is a weird one Jack. I played that night and every night since on apple and never had an update. I did accidentally play a game with the graphics on. There is a strange rolling wave of something moving through the grass. I should have grabbed a screen shot. If I turn the graphics off it is gone. It doesn't look anything like what you have there. Did you try uninstalling and reinstalling? Sometimes that takes you back to the previous version.

I'm not going to bother for now. I'll start playing again I guess when it forces me to update again. I don't have the patience anymore.

I feel your pain. I have a love/hate relationship with DF myself. Sometimes I get so frustrated with the updates I want to quit playing. I have taken a few week long breaks. The last one was when the windows phantom bug started. The game is in an all time high alert, state of brokenness. At least from when I started playing a year ago it is.

Yea, but you are obviously dedicated to the point that you want to be the best irregardless of the circumstances. I'm not that patient. This is just a fun distraction/time killer for me. The best part of the whole thing and the only reason I'm still here is the fun characters on this forum. A few have even become real life friends. I consider Dr Dave a good friend now, and I look forward to one day having the chance to meet Davy, Parrot, Jason, and maybe even Big Tex if I ever get any down time in their neighborhoods. Several other people I would love to meet, but I don't go to their areas too often, or ever. This is what makes all of this bs worthwhile to me though. I don't know what personality type is attracted to this game exactly, but there is a great cross section of people here.

The game? I'll mess with it again at some point when it works and I'm bored and have excess time to kill. It's too damn frustrating to mess with right now though. Maybe the next update will be better.

The forum and meeting the people here is a plus. Every once in a while I learn a thing or two here. Sometimes I learn different ways to go about things. Also seen some totally bizarre internet weirdness. Also been so mad I wanted to punch a hole in this pad. A couple of times I've read things here that came close to bringing tears to my eyes where I had to put the pad down for a bit. I write more here than I ever have. I don't do it well but I still do it. I kill a lot of time here. The forum keeps me occupied in times of boredom through the day.

I like to shoot virtual air planes. I have no idea why? Even when the game is busted I return. I just like to play the game. I like to lose track of time and just mellow out and play. It unwinds me. There are many worse things I could be doing with my time and probably some that are far better.

Who would have thought a tiny little app for the telephone would have opened up such a big world?
