I tried playing Dogfight yesterday having not played it for a couple of weeks due mainly to lack of time. Anyway, I've just taken off on my first mission and my plane immediately turns to the right, does a few loops and then crashes. This can be prevented by tilting my ipad, but you have to hold it at some weird angle to get the plane to fly straight which makes it impossible to shoot. Does anyone know the cause of this? Can it be stopped or will it go away?

This started with last update,u need to reset your control setting.

Go to settings then controls and you can recalibrate it.

Thanks,that's sort of worked. Trouble is I am having great difficulty actually resetting the controls. I've got the plane to fly straight (as in not to the left or right) but it still goes straight up. I should know the answer, but how does one calibrate it properly?

You might have to do it a few times! If it is climbing hold it in a dive position and hit re-calibrate. then try holding it straight and re-calibrate again. Test and see...repeat if necessary.
