I am an unabashed pot stirrer who should not pretend to be above the fray. I enjoy the back and forth between squads and most of the squabbling. It actually is fun for me. That said, I saw this in my FB feed today and was stunned! The closest ever picture of Saturn courtesy of the Cassini spacecraft. What a great statement about the awesome potential of humanity! Our technology and understanding of science is increasing exponentially (just over 60 years from first flight to man on the moon)! Enjoy dogfighters!!

I wonder what the true colors are, because they are either paintings or fake colored guessing what it would look like based on the detected materials. No idea why they don't have real color pictures on those spaceships.

Did you know they almost didn't put a camera on that thing?!

With all of the other devices on Cassini, they are able to pick up what elements are being viewed. With that, and observable data from telescopes, they are able to colorize the pictures into what I posted. There's a lot of good pics from the moons around Saturn too. It truly is an awesome age we live in.
