Good Morning Rabbit... the best "free" photo editor I've found which rates right up there with Photoshop is Gimp -- www.gimp.org/ Hope that helps ya out! Been great flying with ya so see ya up in the skies soon :)

I also use GIMP, but it's definitely NOT easy to use.. at least not for me! Photoshop is probably the best known, and there are free versions of it I hear..

Gimp is free and very powerful but tricky to master as has been said.
We teach our introductory course using Artweaver. Its also free and for basic processes very similar to Photoshop, so the students can easily graduate to Photoshop later (when they can afford it!)

It depends what you want to do with it. I've got an old one called ULEAD Photo Express 2.0 that is pretty simple and has some cool effects. I think they're up to version 4.0 now. I've seen a lot of sites supposedly offering free downloads of version 2.0, but you will have a hard time finding one that isn't a scam. You can find various versions of 4.0 on Amazon from $4.00-$5.00 for the lower tier pages on up to about $80-$90 for the one with all the bells & whistles.

Personally, I think it's worth getting to know Gimp. The price is FREE, and every time I use it I learn a new trick. For a free program, it can do almost everything, and whatever fonts are on your system should be available to use in Gimp also. ;)

Ok Roger! I will tell u my secret…. Best program to move things around, friendly, easy to use and all the fonts u want to upload POWER POINT! That is what I use to make all the banners or art stuff.

I surf the internet for images most preferable the highest image size, then it’s copy paste. Power Point lets me move the different images around the template to see where it looks better. Let’s u crop images and remove backgrounds. You can also add different fonts and download them free from the internet. You can duplicate your original picture to different templates so you can add other elements, move things around or use different fonts and them compare them to see what template looks better.

Once you’re done you give it the old select all and save as PNG or JPG. If you need to retouch something I upload the pic to Photo editor on line, there I use the paint tools to retouch any imperfection. When you are happy with your image; I use Photo Scape to resize the picture to banner size. It’s a free program I resize to 738 x 410, and you’re done! Power Point is much friendly to use than other programs and gives you the power to grab and move things around the temple. Give it a try! You will like it.
