I don't remember the dogfight against MEAN...did I win? Lol...I'm not a huge fan of dogfights so I never did participate in them all that much.

I don't have a top 5 list but my most memorable dogfight involved Davy Crockett against Wig. Davy and I were in a CTC game together as German and it looked like it was going to be an easy win. I was only an air vice marshall at the time...nowhere near the calibre of those 2.

Davy told me to capture the close ship and he headed off to the far one. I think he was 3/4 of the way there when Wig entered the game. I only stayed on the close carrier just long enough to capture it and headed west. Just as I flew over the bridge, I could see the two of them circling over and over. I landed my plane on the far carrier and watched the show.

Davy finally shot Wig down just before I captured the ship. He said his wrists were in agony after that dogfight. It was awesome to watch. I can't remember if Wig was still #1 at the time or if Davy had just moved past him into #1. It was around that time though.

We won the game and Davy still talks about that dogfight to this day. Best dogfight I ever saw.

Hard to tell u and mean was evenly match it was in a bomb a hanger most times it was just sniper feast lol

It was for Whiplash's tournament . As I remember they got paired up in the second round and it was supposed to be a fight to 15. I was helping with "crowd control" so they could fight without interference. Both are some of dogfight's true best. They would engage like a couple of eagles going talon to talon in flight, they spun and twisted for several minutes.... You'd see one take a hit and start smoking and then the other. They were leaving curling smoke trails behind them. When one would go down, congratulations and compliments were traded. Someone who was paying attention to the mission shot, bombed or captured something and it ended with the score at something like 4-2 tKes. I didn't catch the rest of the fight but I think Zeb came out on top.

Tkes has always been a great fighter, and modest too.

long game over 2 hours mostly i defended my base teammate changed all the time no top names stayed...ended with a sneak bombing from a misfit and satan as my late teammate finished the last of our own hangars...and ended the game...

never heard so much crap coming out from my opponents...i was more then less worth than a fart in universe...lol then a bragg of the game in forum tread that they had made a game with more than 100 kills and a win....nothing how the win was made...


the best part was that they didnt know it was me.... cause i fly under my second account and called myself Dick Dale at that time and was maybe rank 5-6 or someting....

Ended from a sneaky Misfit? Ended from a team mate bombing his own hangar? Either way, those Misfits are "wrong". Well done Dix, you are the greatest, EVER. I bow to your greatness. I hope I was in your dream game, I am always willing to help. Unforgettable.

There are only a few players I can say are great all around players. tKestrel has figured out how to raise the bar, He can kill you from any vantage point (plane, chute, soldier on ground, and most deadly in the tank). Destroyer24, is another deadly shot from everywhere. Both remind me of the one called BlueMax. Both of these young fellows are humble to the core.

Dogfighting is what drew me to this game (DF1, I mean), and I suspect that all the great dogfights discussed here are from DF1. Correct? It was exciting because the ratio of speed to performance was appropriate to the graphics processing capabilities of the time. However, Elite effectively killed dogfighting because it was so deadly slow. Then, Zuperman sped it up, but made the mistake of speeding up the WW1 planes every bit as much as the WW2 planes. Now, the WW1 planes are too fast while the WW2 planes still aren't fast enough to really dogfight. I suggest that Zup slow the WW1 planes down to top speeds of 150km/h and speed up the WW2 planes to 270 km/h for realistic action versus graphics processing. I say all this because I LOVE DOGFIGHTING! And I want it to work in Elite as well as it did in DF1. These stories I've read here make it clear that it is important to the success of the new game to make this right.

I have been having some great fights recently. The speeds may not be specifically accurate for each plane but the WW1 speeds are in the correct range.

I meant like the 5 top dogfights like say 420 vs pick or jabob1000 vs superman in a dogfights game dunc or on others words top fighter that u seen vs each other

Np yours was good fighting in a no upgraded plane vs the misfits I wish I was there to see it I may make another top 5 just based on long odds or underdogs fighters soon I was just letting dunc know wat I meant by dogfights it can be from the old dogfights or elite

also other day ..was in ctf game every time I locked on to enemy 6 an started get them..up popped mcfate on my tail...

I loved watching any of the Old School masters drive Bibi from a game. I didn't have the skill to dominate Bibi. Watching .Wig, Blüe Mäx, Davy, Strach, Hulk, Cannon, Zebra et Al drive him from a game was great. That said, I miss Bibi. We are turning on ourselves. We need a villain to unite us!
