You can have the DF you want...we have to pay our fair share.

Maybe you don't want to face it but players who don't pay are to blame.

I have thought a lot about the recent issues surrounding DF and I am disappointed with the players who don't pay their share. They are the ones who have crippled DogFight by limiting it`s resources and as far as I'm concerned have no excuse for not paying up. Think of what any other entertainment costs...it's more than $2/month. Think of the number of hours we we get at that price. Moreover, the players who were here before subscriptions all paid like $4 way back when and played for often months if not years on that same $4.

Zup is to blame for some of this since he made the big mistake of being too generous with DF for all of us and didn't charge anything remotely near what he should have. Actually I'm pretty sure he doesn't charge us nearly enough now. Think about it, arcade games were $0.25 back in the day for minutes if not seconds of fun.

I think of the subscription like this: I got countless hours of fun so I owe a debt to Dogfight for years of free games that were gifted to me and to us all. If Zup instead offered you some other kind of entertainment like he is part of a band you could hire, would you ask him for service every day and give nothing in return knowing he has real expenses providing it? If, after a while, he asked you to pay a portion of what it costs him to provide the service you use would you say no? I wouldn't.

The craziest part is the players who don't pay still come here, use the servers, often bitch and moan over this and that often about the $2! So if you don't have $2 to pay for what you get don't come here. Don't slow down the servers and spoil the atmosphere with your complaints and nonsense.

Even if it didn't work at all I am willing to pay for a broken dogfight for these reasons:

- the years I have been able to play for free
- I want to help since it is impossible for DF to get better with no money
- I don't take something from someone, even if it's a gift and not pay it back

To me it's about respect. Zup needs resources to provide DF as a user of that service I pay my share. The free system is for trial to see if you like the game not to allow freeloaders to take, take, take, and never give back. Sure I get frustrated when the game doesn't work well for me and I was considering adding my own farewell thread to the lot but I read what Zup says I see the core problem, lack of subscribers.

I ask you to honestly evaluate the value of what you have received pay what you believe you owe no more, no less. Think of DF compared to your next best alternative, such as console games, PC games, whatever and don't forget to add how much you enjoy DF in the comparison. Now compare that to what DF has cost you until now. If you owe step up and do what is right, subscribe and buy some points to help provide some assistance. At the very least have some respect for Zup and the gift you had no problem in taking from him and don`t take any more, don`t complain on world chat or forum about anything since you aren't even doing the bare minimum to help and are basically the root cause of all of the problems.

I have said it before, and I will say it again. "Pay, or shut up". I don't understand how someone who plays for free, even has the right to say one word. You wont read about me bitching, and I pay every month and have spent cash to buy coins, that I don't need. Well put Whipper.

ALL IN 100%

A night at the movies:

$10.50 for the movie ticket
$ 4.00 for a drink
$ 4.50 for popcorn

9.5 months of dogfight vs a 2 hour movie. Hmmmm?

Personally I signed up and bought the max points(coins) as I have gotten so much satisfaction from this game. I will never use the 15,000,000 points but hopefully it will help with the funding problems. I encourage others to do the same or at least as much as you can afford.

Whenever I hear a player brag that he or she has never bought a plane or points, and uses game points and coin only to level up their aircraft, I always think to myself "is this just an excuse to play for free?". I know, it isn't always the case but in every case that thought has crossed my mind. I am not ashamed to say in df1 I bought coin so I could have a D8. I bought coin so I could max out my Camel, and now in elite I bought coin again so I could max out my ww2 aircraft. I feel it was the least I could do to help a game that has given me hours of enjoyment, and hours of frustration..... Hey, it sounds just like golf! :lol:

I understand the point of pride that some may have by earning all their points in-game. It certainly is the tougher way to go, but it doesn't support the game maker. Back when the top two tiers of the WW1 planes were introduced, I was already a MORAF and was somewhere in the top 80 in world rank... I had purchased a few points in my early days of playing yet I still did not have enough coins to buy and fully upgrade the highest tier planes on both German and allied sides. I bought some.

Bite the bullet. Buy some points. Even if you don't want to use them. :huh:
