I believe that the download is free but if you subscribe it costs. My subscription is $2.17/month, which should allow you to play back to back games without waiting/watching an ad.

Ok I don't have any Apple devices so I don't know how they do things. I may be wrong but I don't remember paying for the download for my Android devices. I just checked the Amazon underground store and it costs $1 to get for my Android phone from them.

Dogfight Elite is not free to download. Afterwards, you can continue playing it forever with the same scheme than Dogfight: wait between games/ads or subscribe.

The one time payment not only helps a lot with development and maintenance but also filters tons of people that are just acting badly in the game.

Like I said "I don't remember paying" lol my memory was probably off that day. Why the price differs between stores I don't know.

It's a weird mix. Each store decides to add or not to add taxes (and different amount of taxes) on each country. I guess by legal requirement. So I set the price at $1.99 but then the store moves around that price depending on currency/taxes/location.

You did create a thread where you offered for a short period of time free download codes of the beta game, so that we might have more people in games to work out bugs.

I posted a list of codes to download the game free for the 50 first people that was able to use those codes.

That's not even remotely close to a promise that everyone on the world would get a free one.

Sorry, I had always been told by people that we'd be grandfathered in, but there has always been a lot of confusion over the switch to Elite. Anyhow, when exactly does DF1 shut down? And when is the deadline to get Elite and still have your progress transferred over?

I think the "grandfathered in confusion" has been caused by the fact that Zup let many of us play Elite for free for several months and transferred half of our stats from DF1 to Elite as incentive to and in appreciation of taking part in beta testing. Then, when Zup decided to merge DF1 and Elite stats, everyone has in effect been grandfathered.

You didn't have to start from scratch, but you will have to pay a one time download fee.

As far as a deadline, I would guess that your stats transferred, and your good whenever you finally download and log in.

BUT . . .

If you wait too long, Zup will probably eventually get around to purging inactive accounts, at which point you will be S.O.L.
