Thanks for the good times, to all who have made the switch so far!

If you have a compatible device but have not switched over yet it's your loss. More are coming over every day and are already getting used to the aiming issues. It takes some getting used to but it makes for a better game.

The trees are a game changer too. The more I try the better I get at flying through them. (If you aren't dying you aren't trying) There are times when you can get past some reds while they wait for you to pop back up above tree line. The tanks are a blast in the trees... They can sometimes be really tough to get as they blast away at the carrier or hangars.

Lots of people complain about the short range and slow hill climbing but I think it's okay. Maybe a little faster would be nice. Brakes? Sure. Brakes too but it works for me how it is. I often use trees to stop. Lol.

Carrier games can really play out differently now. You can do a "sneak" without going high by moving behind hills, clouds and trees. A lot of people have been shrinking the name tags to the smallest size possible but this can make it very tough to spot a red in the trees. A red can fly low along the waterline (with bomb) leaving the defenders with some tactical dilemmas. Shoot him now? Wait until he's over water? What about the other incoming reds?



I pulled off a new, all-time favorite move in a BTC yesterday: I was shot down and landed in my chute in knee deep water...my tank was further out in deeper water. I immediately got the "you're sinking" message so I ran back up the bank and got out onto dry land. I started trying to defend myself against enemy planes with the rifle but I'm a lousy shot... Fortunately the red hit a tree trying to get me and the other was drawn off by other blues. Left at the beach with only my rifle, I wasn't much use so I took a deep breath, ran into the water found my tank got in and managed to drive back up to the shore without drowning! I got 2 or 3 lucky shots on the carrier before a red finally got me. Truly one I'll never forget. I was "whooping" and laughing so hard, my wife was teasing me about it all night.

Elite has more complexity, more possibilities and so far most who have made it over seem to share in more fun. Come on over and keep an open mind. It may take a little practice but I think you'll like it once it grows on you.

For those who haven't:

love the graphics but i cannot see planes till its too late for me its spray and pray i hit a red then if i can see the plane im usually dead and its too late and the concentration i have to use to see the planes hurts my eyes after half a hour ive talked to some of my friends here they find it the same. i will play but i wont play long games like i used to and to be honest i wont be paying for subscription for something i have no need to pay for

yes I agree Mac its a great improvement on df 1 . Like it very much . Havnt had any probs with eye strain etc . I play many long games some lasting for several hours . I think most people run into trouble when they chop and change from 1 to elite . I find you have to just get used to the bullet drop and stick with it . I agree that it is better to change now and not later as it does take a bit of time to adjust . Its much the same as learning anything new . You find after time you get to really like it and I have no desire to play df 1 anymore . There is much more challenge to elite and it breathes new life into the game . Anyway thats just my opinion . Well back to killing reds .

CC gave me a little advice and encouragement the other day, that seemed to help.

The short range of the tanks makes the games unbearably long now.... graphics are good and the trees make it interesting for sure

I have to say that I'm still on the fence here. I play a game or two every day but I can't say I'm enjoying it. I am looking forward to the new planes so I keep playing to earn rank, but it seems like it more of a job than entertainment at this point. I like the increased complexity of Elite but gameplay itself isn't as smooth yet as DF1. I am getting better with the bullet drop thing but I still feel I'm more or less spraying and praying that I hit my targets. That combined with the few glitches people have been mentioning are making Elite quite the frustrating experience for me. Hopefully that will change soon.

I find it much smoother than dogfight 1 . My device is a current model Ipad air and I am running high speed internet 80 bps wifi . I have very few conect loss probs and find my plane much more agile than df 1 . This is just my experience so as I hear some people in game having conection difficulties or finding game not as smooth I am wondering if it is maybe older devices not being compatible with the new elite or maybe their IP provider is the problem . Does anybody have any suggestions on this .

I agree with Mcfare and CC. Besides the Graphics and being smoother. It takes much more skill to win a game and games take way longer due to this skill and great compettion. There are a few who have come over that dont play so favorably. However there is also way less drama in games in elite thus far. I have gotten to like it greatly and am rather excited to see what comes next.

I'm glad more people are showing up, but I'm going to miss the early days where an "aw, screw it, let's go play chase at the bridge!" Was always welcomed.

I really like it and agree with Bullet. A much more mature group of adults that are not interested in hanging out on WC for hours tearing each other apart over a Video game. I find that my plane and accuracy and in game smoothness varies considerably from day to day. some times It seems like I cant miss, plane moves faster, smoother, and turning radius shortens.
Other time it feels like Uncertainty hid 400 pounds of lead in the wings of my ride Ill be pouring bullets at target and not registering a hit.

But you no what, I could care less. I never played DF1 for WR achievements, or most kills or reputation. That part of the game holds the smallest part of my interest. I try my best to play for the guy next to me. I try to make a path for my team mates to successfully deliver there payloads. If I get shot to pieces, thats fine. I do find that I am better In Elite then legacy. And I feel I can compete and hold my own.

The most important part for me is meeting so many charismatic unique personalities playing this game.
I hope Elite fairs well with most players and catches on. You will notice every one that has made them selves stick it out in Elite for awhile, begins to have no interest in legacy. The begin to avoid playing DF1. and eventually leave it behind.

So come on over and see why. Try playing for two three days, not two three min. You have to really give it a chance. Change your game play, adapt, and have fun shootn poor Cyphers plane into match sticks,
