I've been getting pushed around in elite lately.

I can handle any reds but these winds are too much! I was wondering if they are intentional, another game enhancement, but there are times when the "wind" is so strong that I can turn into it at full throttle and still be losing ground; yes! Actually flying backwards!

So far it has always been midfield in btc games. I'll be flying from the allied carrier and as I get about 1/3 of the way across the wind can come and start pushing me sideways, usually to the north. Sometimes it is only slight but other times it is impossible to make headway.

When it is slight it is interesting and makes me wonder how it is to fight in these conditions....needing to consider the wind for setting up an attack, that would definitely add a whole new dimension to the game but these "winds" also affect the soldier and the tanks, often pushing them into the lakes. When the wind is really strong my soldier can't even walk to his tank.

I've been hitting quit and returning to the game to find it fixed temporarily. It often returns, sometimes not showing up until i get shot down. Other times it does not happen at all. I've had other players see it happen to me but they remained unaffected.

I'm using an iPad with os9. It happened before and after the update with the ww2 planes in the hangars.

I had a game yesterday where after getting shot the soldier starts drifting on his own. Have to exit to stop it. Will post video if it happens again.

It's not the wind or a glitch. It's the ghosts of all the DF pilots that you have killed coming to take you away.

it's a bug, it happens when the system doesn't detach you from the carrier. If you stay still you will see that you move on the same direction the carrier is moving.

I'm trying to figure out when it happens. It only happened to me once and I was not testing at that moment so I couldn't see what caused it. I know it's provoked since I upgraded to Unity 5, but I can't pinpoint yet the exact cause.

I haven't met that glitch yet, but a wind might be fun to add to the game occasionally, especially in storm flying.
I remember Dad telling me once during WWII he was watching a really slow aircraft landing on a hilltop aerodrome, and it started to go backwards, the pilot had to open the throttle again to get over the perimeter fence!


Another possible add on to Elite might be oil on the goggles, either spots, or the whole scene. Every hit on you makes more oil leak from the engine, causing it to be harder and harder to fight accurately.

(Am I right in thinking at the moment the first 3 hits cause no penalty?)
