"The Vintage Aviator" is a group of flight enthusiasts in New Zealand who have been building the original aircraft of World War One. They have plans and blueprints and are painstakingly making them completely historically accurate. Nova shows as they take the planes to the air in the order in which they appeared in The War To End All Wars, first as unarmed observers then to progressively more deadly fighters. They set pilots and crew to the task of aerial warfare including reconnaissance and air to air combat. The balance of air-power swings between the allies and the axis as new innovative war machines are brought to the field and the skies.

good call mcfate, i watched that one a couple months back. very good documentary. i enjoyed how the guys stayed true to the original plans and blueprints for the planes. you know if those people are willing to manufacture their own parts they are some serious maniacs err....mechanics. i think this is definitely worth a watch!
