...being from Northern California I know a thing or two about pot....I'm not in the business and I've never been a grower but it is everywhere around me.

When used as a medicine there are several considerations on what varieties provide the best relief and what method of consumption is best for the person.

"THC" is the compound that provides the greatest narcotic effects, both a "high" feeling and the best pain relief. Most "recreational" strains are high in THC content.

"CBD" is a another compound which tends to provide more anti-spasmodic or anti-inflammatory effect, but it does not have such a psychotropic effect. (Less feeling of high ) One particular strain of high CBD/ low THC was developed by the mother of a young girl with epilepsy, it's known as "Charlott's Web". Many people who don't want or can't have the high effect have found this to be helpful.

As far as how to consume it... smoking is the most common and provides some of the fastest effects but inhaling anything burning is not good for your lungs. Unfortunately all other forms are considered "concentrated" and have a higher charge associated with legal prosecution. Eating it can be difficult because although the dose can be longer lasting, it can be more difficult to predict the strength.

Some doctors who really work with it believe that the best medicinal effect usually comes from a good mix of CBD and THC. To find out more you should speak with a pro-pot MD and
