Noooooo! Never!!! Well almost never that is.
You better try with every last living breath you have to get your tail up and take those planes down. So what if you don't succeed. So what if you get killed 10 times in the process. Later on as you keep playing Dogfight you will have been killed so many times that these extra few won't mean a thing to you.
Trying to get yourself up and defend your base with everything you got is what helps you become a better player. In time you will get better at doing this. Keep in mind everything you are doing now in Dogfight is like practice for you. The more you play and the more you try it will make you a better player down the rode.
Don't get me wrong though. Even I am put in a situation where I know I have no chance of getting up and yes I have to wait it out with my brakes on and let them bomb my hangers.. Oohhh man I hate when that happens. Sometimes there really is nothing else that you can do. You will recognize when those situations come up.
Here is one tip on how to get your plane off the ground. When the red planes are coming in with bullets flying at you and you have just spawned, put the brake on and put your throttle all the way up. AS SOON as you see that the nose of your plane starts dropping down release the brake (press the brake button) and this will make your plane take off faster and give you a better chance.
Practice doing this a few times when there are no incoming planes that way you get some experience in doing this for when you will really need to do it.
