Dogfight is, as we all know, a racially, religiously, and culturally diverse community, filled with people of varying lifestyles across the world.

Now, I've been seeing a lot of Christmas talk. And this saddens me. Christmas is a Christian holiday. I'm a Christian, as I'm sure many others are, but what about those who don't or can't celebrate Christmas in any good moral honesty?

And so I looked for the logical alternative, and I didn't have to look far. This is Festivus for the Rest of Us.

Festivus has many traditions, but the one that I feel translates best here is the annual airing of Grievances. This is where you express your discontent, issues, and gripes with friends and family.

So why not do that here? This is the official Festivus thread for the airing of grievances.

Have an issue with a player, or a squad, or just something about them that bugs you? Spill it here, it's a tradition!

There is one rule, and one rule only: NO RESPONDING TO OR DEFENDING YOURSELF FROM GREIVANCES PEOPLE HAVE AGAINST YOU ON THIS THREAD. YOU MAY ARGUE/DISCUSS GRIEVANCES ELSEWHERE, BUT KEEP THIS THREAD IN THE TRUE SPIRIT OF FESTIVUS.

You may proceed, and happy Festivus!
You feel like you're going to have a bad time.

I'll kick it off.

I hate how a bunch of players on this forum type like they're writing with their elbows. C'mon, you don't need to be an English teacher, but at least be readable. That's you in particular, Darrax.

It really bugs me when players like Mean, MyNuts, and TRex talk with their caps lock on.

The Misfits logo is stupid. Their banners are atrocious, too. I'm pretty sure that's on purpose, though, so it doesn't bug me that much.

Why would you name yourself after another actual person? Stuff like Snake Plissken, Eddie Rickenburg, and Manfred Von Richtofen... I remember we had someone named Vanessa Hudgens a while back. That's just weird.

The Gunners Inc logo is probably the best actual logo in the game, but it never gets implemented very well in the banners.

Stop using more than one or two banners.

Goldeneagle, your signature should come with an epilepsy warning.

Kestrel, get better at disguising your second accounts. You too, MORAF21.

I've seen so many fake internet sob stories, I could not be less convinced that Darkness has cancer, as an eighteen-year-old, and his father and brother are both dead, and he somehow manages to go through rigorous treatment and be on DF world chat 10 hours a day.

Blue Fighter's constant colored text is obnoxious.

Pretty much everything about Swop.

That's all I can think of now... isn't this festive? Carry on, folks! GET INTO THE FESTIVUS SPIRIT
You feel like you're going to have a bad time.

I'll go:

I'm sick of noobs and players with KDRs of 3:29 saying things like "ok, push forward" and "let's get the base"

I am fed up with the stupid FARKING world chat all togeather.

I am tired of black devil bubi ALWAYS dropping and ruining every bombing mission he's in.

I've had enough of playing on what has become a sub par device.

I can't take anymore of 111swop's holier than thou attitude.

I also am tired of all caps, multicolored text and goldeneagles banner. That shit almost gave me a FARKING STROKE

Noobs, quit whining and flying around without firing your weapon, and fight already.

You know who you are, stop quitting every time you get your ass kicked.

I'm sick of the little foux, fly by night squads that don't exist on the forum

I can't stand hearing "I need a squad" from level 3 players

EDIT: and plub, how could I forget plub. You sir are useless. I can't count how many times I have been alone in a game and plub just sits and cries. Stop taking up space in games if your not going to play.

I'm sick of 13 year olds
I'm sick of 14 year olds
I'm sick of 15 year olds.....
....you get the idea

IVE HAD ENOUGH!!! Happy fukn Festivus, and get of my lawn!!!!

My turn.

I'm tired of people being offended by how others wish them "good tidings". Christmas, Kwanzaa, Hanukkah, Chanukah, solstice, festivus, whatever... If someone wants to bless you with something they hold dear, take it like a blessing. No one says it to belittle your beliefs , be gracious for Uller' s sake!

I'm tired of seeing people who would be decent to others on the street being a-holes to stupid kids just because they're stupid kids., whether you're Mea-kappa or the jolly green jackass. The only way this game can grow is by people coming on and enjoying themselves. If you are an adult and would belittle a middle schooler face to face just for sport you are sick, doing it on the internet is cowardly b.s.

I'm tired of people who are so dedicated to the game that they would risk marital peace, whining about others playing a war game because they don't share their version of etiquette. If someone can ruin your game by doing something that you find challenging you should stick with angry birds. The game is designed to be played with different styles, if you don't think so just ask yourself why it is that Zup made it so planes fly faster without bombs? Is it a glitch? Would it be better if it was simpler and there was no change in speed?

I'm tired of waiting for df elite. ....So tired of it, I guess I'll just have to wait some more!!!!

I'm tired of moronic emotional narrow minded responses to subjects with multifaceted points of view.

I'm tired of people getting offended by use of vocabulary beyond 5th grade level. If you want to stay in the sandbox don't bother responding. If you want to understand some of my "big words", ask Google.

I'm tired of people having no sense of humor and fun when they read and respond. If you're here to have fun, try to be fun.

Learn to understand the golden rule of dogfight as said by the game maker:

"Let other people have fun and you'll have fun" - zuperman

Understand that this does not mean that your fun can include trashing on others, (that is specifically forbidden in the boring old actual rules) It means that you should let others play the game without you being a jerk or by trying to restrict the game possibilities.

Ah... yes. I feel better now.
Happy Festivus.

Merry Festivus!

It's 6am Christmas morning in Sydney and I'm the only one up.

My kids, who used to charge around the house from 4am shouting "presents, mom and dad, presents. Get up!" Now lie hungover in their stinking beds while I clear up beer cans and kick the dog. I took the family out to Sydndey's best Asian restaurant last night, spent hundreds of dollars stuffing their ungrateful faces with dumplings, crispy duck, steamed snapper and $15 cocktails. Don't get me wrong, the food was great, but those bastards would have been just as happy at Subway and a drive thru liquor store.

As I stand alone in the lounge, surveying the parcels under the tree (all of which I paid for), I can hear next door's young kids shrieking with joy and laughter, tearing into theirs. Noisy little shits. I feel like storming in to tell them the truth about Christmas - that santa is myth and Rudolf Rednose is actually unemployed.

Time to walk the dog, with his perpetual grin and stupid gay Christmas collar. At least he was pleased to see me this morning. Cute little mutt. One thing in his favour; he thinks this is just a normal day, apart from the unusually hard kicking.

Thank you to KappaClaws, McSaint and CrossRider for your enlightening posts. There's lots wrong with DF, but right now I'm going to set that aside and enjoy a lovely day in the real world, oh yes, and with my real name.

Have a great day all you unappreciated parents!

In the spirit of the season, I have a few I would like to share

Tanks learn when to be in one, when to shoot one, and when to leave it alone people! When I say leave tanks to my team, only to have some kill happy nut destroy a tank while I'm almsot in with my bomb I want to scream. I inevitably end up being shot down by a red that would be in tank if someone would have listened to me.
Also if we are in a ctc if your blue dont even think about getting in a tank or shooting a red tank. If you happen to be red, by all means tank till your heart is content. ;)

Please please please stop using "lol" as a period. Every person I see that ends every sentence with "lol" I assume is a laughing drooling idiot.

For out in the real world here are my beefs

People who stop and stand in a doorway, exit or entrance...keep moving people!

People who dont even think to start self bagging their groceries untill the entire transaction is complete, thereby forcing me to share that tiny space with you while I diligently bag mine.

People who drive the speed limit on the highway with their 4 way hazard lights flashing.

Most people at Walmart.

Ahhh that feels better...like im all clean and ready to start a new year.

My day hasn't improved much. I've posted this on the MOM thread but those miserable self centred old bastards gave me no sympathy. I've therefore decided to go public. Let's face it, we're all here for attention. If I'm not getting it at home, I'll find it elsewhere. I'm sure all you military folk and long distance truckers know what I mean.

Now I'm loading the dishwasher, tidying up and taking out the garbage while the rest of the family, having had their sugar rush of gifts and goodwill, sit around waiting for something interesting to happen. I might suggest a walk on the beach, or maybe a game of monopoly, but they will be happy all day with their tech devices and Xbox controllers. I suppose I will take the dog for another walk before cleaning the BBQ in preparation for this afternoon's summer feast of grilled prawns and spicy salad. Something to look forward to, you might think. But I will drink far too much wine while turning those expensive little pink critters. Way too much wine. As my family lounge around doing nothing, I will stand at the BBQ with mounting resentment, repeatedly charging and emptying my glass.

As we sit down, one of my ungrateful spoilt late teen kids will make a sarcastic remark about something....my culinary skills....my bald head....my lack of education...whatever...

They will all laugh and snigger at my expense, and I will have had enough...

Then Christmas will really get going in the Biggs household....it gonna be a blast. I can't wait.

Merry Christmas to all you Dads who will make a stand and sleep on the couch tonight.

Grievances? Hmmmm...

This Gannet is not the sleek black/white killing machine he once was in his youth. (see picture left)
This Gannet is old and grey and arthritic and slow.
This Gannet uses bigger fonts so he can read it.
This Gannet wears trifocals, and has to dogfight by braille.
This Gannet has to work really hard to catch his dinner.
This Gannet takes a long time to get in the four pecks needed to make a kill.

So this Gannet gets a bit annoyed when he's expended a lot of time and energy getting three hits,
then some cocky younger bird with the eyesight of an eagle makes the last hit and takes the kill.

So if you value minimal contribution this Gannet makes to the blue team effort,

Don't steal MY fish !

I hate it when people say I shouldn't start a reply with "I".

I hate topics like this one I don't really understand.

I only get that I can complain about anything here, or don't I? You can tell that I dó,.....but maybe I understand it wrong. Can I complain about EVERYTHING here?

The only thing I really want to share here is that it seems to me this forum is going down hill, and it's dragging me down with it.

The only thing I really want to share here is that it seems to me this forum is going down hill, and it's dragging me down with it.

There's a famous American show with an episode where they celebrate "Festivus" instead of Christmas. So this thread was a joke about that show. It's called "Seinfeld", you should check it out.
You feel like you're going to have a bad time.

I find your belief system fascinating.

(Watched Seinfeld a couple of times, but just as I got into it it stopped.)

You should have just posted a video link, because some of us just read moving pictures.

Hope this'll work. (R.S.V.P.)

But my airing of grievence still stands erect like the proud festivus pole amoungst the distractingly decorated shedding pagan trees.
This forum is going down hill with either people sharing their true self and their misfortunes only to have others doubting and making fun of them, or trolling idiots that try to draw others with them under the stone that they come from.

Also I aired a grievence with myself that, being a cynic already I let myself get influenced even more by that kind of behaviour.

Happy belated festivus anyway.

Or is it a belated happy festivus?

Yeah, you're right Rudolf.
I almost complained about the complainers, but stopped myself in time.
Thought, "no this is a Groundhog Day, we've been down that path before." :)

To prevent us from this forum becoming Groundhoggy like, festivus isn't a bad idea at all. Air your grievences and be done with it for a whole year!

...and it's a nice break from all the old conventions
