So I've been using joystick all my career and I've tried tilt a few times but failed epically. I decided to give it another spin and call out to the df communizing for help and tips. So I was wondering if y'all can help me out and shoot me a few pointers and tips, like which is the best way to hold it, etc.... Feel free to pm me if u don't feel comfortable posting in public. Thank you all.

My Kindle feels best if I calibrate it almost flat. Basically, lay it down then tilt it towards you about 15º. This seems to allow for the best response for me. And I usually have to save that setting twice or it sometimes sticks like it was pointing straight down. :pinch:

You're going backwards!! IMHO!!

I started on tilt and am now using a controller and enjoying the game so much more, and doing better overall too...

I would set the calibration with the tab tilted at 45 degrees for level flight and so when the tab is straight up and down the plane is at about max up elevator... sensitivity at max and it still seems like flying a bus after using a controller tho...

I found myself in every imaginable contortion waving that tab around the room trying to turnfight... probably would make a funny show all in itself... and why I did so lousy at it

To me it seems like a whole different game with the platform change and almost like starting over and learning what you can and cannot do...

Best of luck!!

Well the reason I'm trying to convert is because the screen joystick has a turning disadvantage that has never been addressed. I guess we're just to few and far in between but have you noticed the difference in turning? When you use joystick a noob in a spad or dr3 can out turn you while using tilt you can keep up with the ss4 and caml. I tried to talk to zup about this but he swer up and down it was the same (what a crock of crap). I've tried both joystick and tilt and there is definitely a turning disadvantage when it comes to screen joystick. I'm tired of being own by noobs when it comes to turning. If you noticed this, please speak up and maybe we can get zips attention, idk....it'd be worth it the try

oh i think we are talking two different things... when you said joystick I assumed you meant the plug in kind... like a xbox controller

yeah, the on screen controls gave me trouble when tanking but I never tried them for flying... they do seem like they would be a challenge for anything more than simple moves and as tough as keyboard flying would be for me....

tilt would be an improvement from the on screen controls IMHO ;)
