Is it true that you can be muted if reported a certain amount of times?

I'm told you can. I'd like to know if this is the case can you find out who has reported you and the reasons why?

Face your accusers if you will.

If one is muted for more then a few minutes are they notified by the power that be? And is there any chance to state the case for the muted?

If any one knows I'd be happy to hear from you.

I can't count the many times I've been muted for no reason. And it's not for minutes. It's days at a time. The shyt gets old.

I'm really curious to know the protocol of having someone muted. I understand in your case it was more then likely earned and expected. Right ( I don't mean that to seem mean amigo), just that it was as no surprise to you or was it ever a surprise?

If you select player in WC and click report, then they are muted. Not sure what or who determines time, but a person can report you if they don't like you. Basically, be careful as many have found a flaw that seems to be abused at times.

Being mute is bad. Especially if you're a ventriloquist or an auctioneer...even if you're a dj...you could lose your job if you can't talk.

I know rap my comment didn't help I was just pleading a case on my behalf. But bzerk does have a point what if ppl start using it to troll or just because they don't like someone? That might be why I'm muted for no reason twice a week. Never has it been this bad up till recently.

But others just watching a chat can decide that the player has earned a mute and mute them...... i see a real problem with this. Yiu don't even need to be disliked by a player particularly, a narcissistic little brat could just start randomly muting then.....


This game gets crazier each month.... no mods we police each other!!!!!

I generally stay out of WC, but have noticed the over abuse or troll muting people. Be warned, dog butt soldier is back and once again starting to spew a bunch of negative things, could be the troll muting people.

Zup did say once that if a person is found sending bogus reports they will be banned.

Thank you for seeing me above this Raptor. I have never muted anyone, I leave that to squad leaders.

I'm not an authority but I don't believe you can be muted for someone reporting you.. all that does is alert zuperman to look at the chat for that time period.

I think if a gazillion people report you all that does is make a higher level alert to him, but I honestly don't know for sure.

As far as I know the only way you get muted via World Chat is if you use curse words that are on his prohibited list and then you get auto-muted.. longer period of times for each one I think.

That happened to me the other day.. but then it ended. I think it's just a glitch, but of course I can't be sure of that.

I have used the report feature in World Chat and have seen that persons input vanish and the person seems to be muted as well. I dont know if it was my report or several reports on the same person for the same incident that cause this. All I know is that when I use the report, its necessary and the disappearance is relieving.
I sincerely hope we as a community dont abuse this feature and loose it as its all we seem to have right now.

Nice to know about this.

From now on, I will love to mute some dirty-mouths - specially two brazilian noobs who teamkilled me yesterday, and bragged about that. And if nobody dit it yet, I will have a pleasure to mute a player named "pikaza o almirant" too.

Sometimes, even though it's rare occurance, I find myself muted in world chat for no reason at all. When I notice this, I close down DF and reopen it. Once I enter again all the messages that did not go through now did and all is ok.

I have no clue why this happens but it does and this is the solution to this. Well at least for those who get muted for not using foul language.
