Have you happened upon the silent ship of grey
That never docks or alters its determined course
From the first hour of a moonlit night
To the beautiful dawn of a cloudless day

With its deserted decks and missing crew
Silently cutting through the deep waters blue
For it holds a dark secret within
A tale so awful its hard to know where to begin

In a df game I found myself at the shores of the lake
The ship was passing I noticed no wake
Above the planes were fighting, spitting bullets of venom n fire locked in a deadly fight
When I saw from the ship came a mysterious light.

A lantern a candle I couldn't be sure
So I waded in so I could see more
The cool water held me with its icy grip
As I tried to reach the silent ship

All of a sudden it changed its course
And I struck out for the shore with all my force
I thought I could hear a moan a muttering 'Get away to the shore'
It seemed to be coming from an unopened door
The ship was upon me I couldn't look
As I was plucked from the water by a bone rod n hook.

I flew through the air and landed on the deck My strength was no match
I could see a line of figures drawn outside to inspect their catch
I lay upon the deck dishevelled wet n cold
When a cheering began 'we have our last man'

A door opened again I saw that light
There were four figures hunched over a table of the blackest stone
Their faces were a terrible sight

One of them looked up at me and said
'You know us not by name for a thousand years we've been playing this game
Another said ' Bokus! Again you will not be told
Rake those coals my soul is cold!'

Piercing green eyes blinked from a shadowed corner dark
Began raking furiously at this remark
A cold black light sprang from the hearth
The hunched figures began to laugh

'Come sit at the table and play with us but therein lyes a catch'
Your the last soul we need to fill our hold
You play for your freedom but your skills will be no match
If you win your free to go, if you lose its down below.

I am pestilence, over there is famine death and war
And a feeling stirred within me I had known them before
We are here because of mans determined fate
The souls here are from those that carried on until it was too late

I realised my predicament, then with satisfaction I yelled
I know you can't put me down there as someone with love in their heart cannot be felled
We'll see about that said the third, I think we willgive you a chance to save soul n name
If you would sit with us and play our dreadful game

The cards were dealt the game was long n hard
Until at last I exclaimed 'I have the winning card'
I threw it down and it split the air
To the others disbelief and despair

'No it's not possible no one has ever won since time has begun
You tricked us it's not as it should be'
They turned their ghostly faces towards me.

I announced 'I will stay for one more game before I go
This time I will play for their souls down below'
If I lose my fate you choose
If I win their lives again will begin with a second chance.

The fourth ghoul rocked forward in furious repose
Our terms, 1 card only you hadn't reckoned on that I suppose?
The cards were dealt the scene was set
They had run out of souls with which to bet.

I had won again and as I left
I whispered in the ear of death
'You have a soul?' He looked at me
I am not like the other three.

I am part of life the other three only exist
By the actions of man in which they persist.
I left the ship the souls were freed
But there is a moral to this tale,take heed!

If you land on the ship, spawn and try to tank
You'll be the first of a new cargo of souls
With only yourself to thank...
