Anyone have an idea why?

You mean you have to shutdown/restart the iPad and then reboot into dogfight (OR just quit the DF app and reboot the app?).

I very often quit the DF app because it might just hangup on the "Logging In" screen or on the "Waiting for an available game" screen.

I've also been waiting for 30 seconds on the "World Map" page before selecting a server (like northeast US) (this was Zups suggestion last week). It appears that if you wait 30 seconds then you'll be directed to a 'newer server'.

Hope this helps, Wumper.

On my droid device, I find that it gets slow, unresponsive etc, I exit DF then use my memory management tool to kill everything in RAM (it's usually all the background crap that slowly uses up the RAM), and then I just load DF and hey presto everything is better.

On apple you can't do that, so a reboot would fix it.

you can, you just need to double press the ipad button, then slide up the app so it kills it. No need to reboot.

As to why you need to... you probably just need to wait to get the list of servers before playing again. Because since all servers are new, internally it has the old servers (which are already turned off) and it gets updated after it each game, but it takes a few seconds. The next update will add the new servers to the internal database.

So the trick, once you finish a game instead of telling it to play again, quit. Then go to the world map, wait a few seconds until you get all the speed bars, and connect again.
