I would like to appeal to you to take some of our subscription dollars and use that to give some attention to the current version of dogfight. You have posted that you are concentrating on df2, and I get that. However while you have been leaving df to fend for itself the game has become increasingly laggy and difficult to play. While there are many who support your df2 efforts, that support is from the ranks of df1, and those folks, myself included, are becoming increasingly frustrated with the current state of the game. I cannot speak for all, but personally I have waited a long time for df2, I can wait a few months more if it means giving some attention to the current game to minimize the lag.

Way back when subscriptions first started you advised us that if we subscribe the lag would be taken care of. The more folks who subscribed, the less laggy the game. Free players would be on slower servers giving the lag free game to subscribers. Many of us have subscribed from the outset and have not been given what you advised we would get with our subscriptions..... less lag. It had gotten better initially, sure. Once you had sufficient subscribers you changed the "contract" with said subscribers, announcing the current game would no longer be supported while you develop df2. Okay not to split hairs but that sounds to me like the old "bait and switch".... a contract modification without the subscribers consent if you will.

I would like to add that a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush, and folks who subscribe should get a reasonable game to play while waiting on the other game. The existing version is here, many play it now. We seem to be paying for something that we don't have yet.

I think it is safe to say that a majority of us feel the same way about this game as you.... we love it. Its our baby too. That being said I am not trying to call you out, hold your feet to the fire, make waves, complain, etc. I just want to appeal to you to please do whatever voodoo you do and tweak the existing game and lessen the lag for us. I am sure most of us would appreciate the effort and who knows? You may just gain additional subscribers which will help bring df2 closer to reality. (okay, that was a little complaint but I am really just trying to ask for your help in a reasonable way, using valid talking points to make my appeal)

Right now the lag is so bad the game is very difficult to play, more for some than others, but it is tough. It has become almost laughable at times, and I am not the only person to notice this. I play the closest server only to have the game populated by folks who are far away, either by choice or not, which likely creates the issues.

I get it, you are busy hammering out df2 (elite). Most of us are behind you and your df2 efforts. In the meantime I am just asking you to throw us a bone and address some of the lag issues so we can continue to happily play while awaiting the new version to be completed.

I will be standing by for the firestorm I may have set into motion. I want to end with I really do love this game, the folks in it, and the community as a whole. I wouldn't have stuck my neck out and posted this if I didn't care. Bottom line is this: I didn't create df, but I fully support it and feel its part my baby too. I honestly feel less lag in the current version would attract more subscribers and ultimately benefit all of us.

I believe that the lag is caused by Apple players being an update behind, be patient, it's been 2 weeks now and it's usually 2-3 weeks when Apple releases it.

If that's the answer it would be wonderful. It would also mean I wasted about 10 minutes typing that post. LOL

Viper, according to Zup from a previous post of his, he was expecting the update to come out last Friday, but thought the holiday in the USA may have slowed it down.

He believes things should be fixed after the release, so we are waiting for Apple to release it.

Apple clock was messed up, so it was sending messages with wrong time stamps (it is used to know things like your speed and where you are located).

The way to solve this is to either block all Apple players to go online until the next update is out, or do a trick that will allow to play but sometimes the messages will go through with the wrong clock (and also lag the servers more than usual).

I decided to lag the servers more than usual and allow for some randomness like this for a week, while we wait for the update on Apple. I didn't want to block all Apple players with .

This is why the game is lagging till apple devices get the latest update.
