Hey guys,

Blu here, and i have a question for anyone who might be able to help. Im on the market for a new laptop, mainly for schooling and gaming. Some laptops out there can cost a fortune for a simple laptop, and i dont see myself paying any more than max of $800-900 for one. The main thing im after is a good processor, decent storage size and a good video card. I have at the moment a lenovo ideapad, a total piece of crap, it worked fine for a while, but all my games have to be set to minimal graphics settings. But now it decided to die on me..... Now my screen brightness is stuck on min. Try flying or shooting when the screen is almost black.... Lol, not fun. The battery is also gone, only last 20-30 mins before it needs a charge again. Ive been on forums and customer support and everyone with this particular model is having the same exact problems since the win 8.1 update. They said they are surprised that im just now having the problem. So now i figured its time to lay this laptop down and get a new one.

Can anyone help me out with advice on a good laptop that can hold the games i play. Dont wanna state what i play so that im not advertising or anything, but if yall wanna know so that way yall know what laptop would be best.

Many thanks in advance!

well for starters, youll probably want an i7 processor or better, an NVIDIA graphics card, and around a terabyte of harddrive space (1000 gigabytes for you if you dont know what a terabyte is) and probably between 6 and 10 gig of RAM. I currently use an ASUS Q550L, 13.5" (or close) touch screen, 1 terabyte of hard drive, 8 gig of ram, NVIDIA GEFORECE 745M graphics card, and an i7 processor, works really well for all my needs, there are some compatability issues between ASUS laptops and win 8.1, but they are minimal (for instance i cant turn off my track pad, and my keyboard doesnt light up anymore) but nothing that really interferes with general opperation of the computer, i find if im not playing dogfight my battery will last between 4 and 8 hrs on a full charge, with medium screen brightness and continuous use. the only real thing i dislike about my laptop, it heats up a lot when using graphics intensive games (dogfight brings it up to around 90 degrees, warthunder can get it in the range of almost 120) i have to use a small desk fan to suplement the internal fans, and tis heat seems to have damaged the keybaord in the past (might have been a defective keyboard, the new one hasnt shown any signs of malfunction yet, but the other one didnt for nearly a year)

ok....so i hope you understand my technical jargon, if not ask me to clarify...but id say look at best buy, theyve got some good products, and good waranty to go with it....had to replace my entire keyboard....didnt pay a dime. but definitly use google, and go to some places, my laptop is a little expensive, clocking in around $1200

I recommend ASUS (although I have heard good things about Alienware)
My ASUS laptop (which is now over 3 years old) still rocks..

Ive heard a ton about alienware, but man if mom finds out i spent 2-3 grand on a laptop, she would send the laptop back with me in the box >_< lol. Ive heard alot about asus in the reviews and forums ive looked up, my mom said bell is good, but i dont trust bell. Ive never had good experiences with their desktops.

Destroyer24 has a surface....i just asked him to test df on it....from what ive heard surface is good, but doesnt quite match up to the power of a good laptop, also the screen is a bit small for everday use in my oppinion.
